Comment:

She is an incredible person and teacher. I can tell she really cares about me and my future career. Although she makes you work for the grade, it is attainable. The book is wonderful help for the quiz grades and as study material. I cannot recommend this course and this professor more.

Comment:

I really enjoyed Dr. Poms. She has somewhat of a dark humor but she's nice. There are homework assignments due before each class which includes problem sets and quizzes but they're pretty helpful in the long run. Gives a study guide with everything that will be on the exams so there isn't any surprise. 3 exams and 1 group project.

Mrs. Poms has good sense of humor and very helpful. A lot of material and formulas to remember but she gave us a lot of practice problems which helped. gch 412 isnt an easy course especially in the summer but she is such a great teacher it was a breeze. 2 tests and 1 project. attendance and homework was counted as extra credit

Dr. Poms is a great professor. If you simply read the syllabus, come to class, and do what she asks you will do well. If you don't then you might not do as well. It's as simple as that. She's very passionate about public health and she wants her students to success but you have to meet her halfway. If you do, your gonna ace every course with Dr.P!

Dr. Poms was an awesome professor. She is naturally a sarcastic person, so her lectures are pretty entertaining sometimes. Epi is hard material, with many formulas to remember, but Dr. Poms makes it easy to understand. She requires the book. Her tests are based strictly on her study guides. Everything is pretty straight forward! Take her!

She makes my blood boil. Claims her "feedback" is helpful when it is rather cynical and outright rude and has nothing to do with the structure of your papers. Her comments are subjective, just like her entire grading system. And by no means will she accept late work, even if it was by technological mistake.

Even though the course material isnt that difficult, she over-complicates everything. She takes FOREVER to grade assignments and her feedback is usually limited and VERY cynical. Often filled with sarcastic remarks and jumps straight to accusations of plagiarism on the smallest mistakes in papers. Very rigidly opinionated. Find someone else.

Dr. Poms is an amazing professor. Going to class, doing the homework (AND practicing the problem sets), studying for the exams (she gives a very detailed study guide!) are the key to success. Sometimes she seems rude, but that is just because she is an Epidemiologist and not a people person. Take her if you want to be an Epidemiologist!

It is hard work for sure, but it pays off. Dr. Poms will do whatever it takes to help you succeed, not just in class, but in your career as well. Ask questions when you are confused, work hard, and you'll do fine.

Dr. Poms was a great professor. There were quite a few assignments in a short time since I took her over summer, but she made it very manageable. One small paper, one big paper, easy reading quizzes, a 45 minute group presentation, a LinkedIn, and a resume were what were required for the class. I would take her again. She is passionate and funny.

I was really scared about GCH 465 class, especially in summer session. But it was not difficult at all. There were a lot of easy assignments, you can get an A. There was a group project and presentation, it was not difficult either. Finally, there was a position paper,it was difficult but if you got all As in other assignment you will be fine

Dr. Poms is a very engaging professor and this class was a joyful one. No exams, but a ton of reading and homework. Must put in work and effort to get an A. She makes the class participation part of assignments, so you can't miss class if you want to do that homework. One big group project at the end of the semester.

Dr. Poms is an awesome professor! Very nice and super easy. One group project at the end but it's not difficult at all. Tests are easy as long as you study and know the formulas for everything. Only complaint would be that she kind of treats you like kindergarden students. Would definitely love another class with her though!

Dr. Poms social deter. of health was a straight forward course. We had multiple quizzes, an hour long group presentation, and weekly writing assignments. To get a good grade you need to be at every class, or you will miss assignments. She is a very fair grader and a sweet teacher. If you put the time and effort in you will get the grade you deserve
