Comment:

Sweetest little old lady ever. She doesn't have really high expectations - just wants your best. Her lectures are mandatory and entertaining, in class quizzes are easy, and the essays are as complicated as you make them. Loved her and her class :)

This wasn't a difficult class. There is a fair amount of writing, but that's the point. Dr. Barlow was kind, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and a pretty good teacher. All the major assignments were given out with weeks to complete, and she would work with you to make sure you got all your assignments turned in.

She was kinda old school but her class was fairly simple. Time consuming, some assignments were kind of annoying. Class could get boring, but if you got her talking she was hilarious. I really liked her.

Loved Prof Barlow. She was a great teacher who taught the things we needed. Assignments were understandable and essays were only 3-5 pages, with a 7-10 pages towards the end of the semester (this is nice considering other teachers make you write 7-10 each time). She is a professor you can ask anything and she will care and help you out!

Not really an easy class, there are a lot of assignments. There are also presentations you've got to do, but it's much easier than she makes it sound. She's got her favorite students for sure, but it isn't hard to get on her good side. Overall a very good teacher; she gets her point across and is easy to understand. Not an easy A, though.

I just looked off of my friends textbook every once and a while. She defiantly has favorites, just compliment her and talk to her about stuff outside of class and she will most likely love you. Way too many assignments though... I still recommend her though :) she is the sweetest!

Only requires three writing assignments (3-5 page essays) and participation in a group book report. Talks a lot and gets fairly monotonous. One short story a class with a "quiz", and she gives you the answers during class discussion. The final is two hours long and requires you know the short stories--do not fall behind on your reading.

horrible i did all the assignments and she failed me regardless advised me i was not a good enough wrighter to move on to the next level. I did all the assignments and got a decent grade on all of them exept the final one she graded harshley and failed me even though my graded assignments were enough to pass under the point layout on the syllabus

I entered college in 1992 with an 8th grade profficiency in English. Mrs. Barlow was supportive and helped me to develop my creative writing assignments to a college "A" level. It was nice to run into her in my local Albertsons supermarket and discover she's still teaching!

I loved Prof Barlow. She was very understanding. She let you make revisions on essays for an extra 10 points. You could only miss 5 classes and some days it was very boring. Overall she was great!

This teacher is NOT horrible, she is NOT a demon. I enjoyed her class very much. Syllabus was clear, she always informed students and reminded students of assignments due, flexible, graded fairly, allowed to miss 5 classes. Attend class, if you aren't able to attend be sure to notify her. She is understanding to student needs. Take her!!

She was a horrible teacher, never gave a syllabus or schedule till middle of the semester, and then she kept changing it. The ways she graded made no sense, I did well on my assignments A's and B's but only got a C out of the class and I did not miss hardly ever. Dr. Barlow is a very boring teacher. I found myself skipping class just to spare myself from her family stories, and all the other irritating unwanted information she would give on a daily basis.
