Comment:
I had her for Chem 201 (Gen. Chem 1) and Chem 311 (Organic Chem 1). I wouldn't recommend her. She is a tough grader and tries to trick people on tests and quizzes when most students don't even know how to do the simple problems! She moves too fast and tries to cover too much. I've gotten better grades with other teachers for the same subject.

Definitely not an easy class, but it is possible to get a good grade. Make sure to study, take good notes and ask for help from her when you need it. Remember to do well in lab (it can hurt or help your grade) and USE YOUR TEXTBOOK.

Dr. Mumper is a character! But she truly is a great teacher. The class is hard, but she's always willing to help if you meet her halfway. Just try and it's fine. Pay attention and its fine! Show up, read what you're supposed to, and you'll do well. She has high expectations, but shouldn't we all? It's college.

Dr. Mumper definitely knows her information when it comes to Chemistry. She is very helpful when needed and gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit. Sometimes she's tough but she only wants to see you do your best. Definitely study the book and the notes she gives, especially when it comes time for tests and be prepared for daily quizzes.

IDIS 160 is a **** class. We ****ed around and did nothing all year. Homework was easy, but the exams were difficult. Dr. Mumper is nice when she wants to be, but that can change on a dime. Sometimes she is very difficult to work with. I do not recommend this course to anyone. I am walking away from it with no new knowledge.

Mumper can intimidate, but she is the most caring, dedicated teacher I have ever had.she is hard on us because she wants us to succeed. She is worth it.You must study every night, but you come out well prepared.I would highly recommend her.If you are failing and you tell her that you are changing majors, she gives you a C. You will know your stuff

Needs to get off her high horse. This is Frostburg, not Harvard. Rushes through chapters, assigns unreasonable homework, and overall is unpleasant to deal with. You never know how she'll respond if go to her for help, sometimes she's nice, sometimes not so much. There are other things in the world beside chemistry! Avoid her if you can!

Appalled at some of the negative comments. Prof. Mumper is a dedicated, knowledgeable, and straightforward instructor. It's true that she's not stingy with rebukes; neither is she with praise, when it's earned. Over-sensitive souls who feel wounded at her treatment are going to have a rough wake-up call post-graduation! Taking her again in spring.

OK so it's a given that Organic chemistry is tough. She makes you learn and does a good job of it. Tests are based on problems in the back of the chapters. Do all those problems and you will be fine for exams. She even drops your lowest test score! You can make it through. Lab with Weser is why this class is so frustrating.

Okay, so if you're expecting an easy A, you're going to have a rude awakening. There is a massive amount of work to be done in the class. However, Mumper knows her stuff and by the time you're done the class you do too. The class requires a lot of work, but in the end if you do what you're supposed to, you could practically teach the class yourself

Evil woman, gets out of breath yelling at us. Tries to control your life by telling you that you need to change your major if you didn't get suchandsuch on a test, will only not fail you if you leave the science field. But if you need chemistry you're probably stuck with her. If I ever have to take her again, I will cry.

SO MUCH WORK. Be prepared for: 5 point quiz every class, 10 page hw every 1-2 weeks, 5 page exam every 3 weeks, 50-100 pages to read a week, 15-20 page lab report a week, 20+ hours in lab a week and one hell of a lot of reactions to memorize immediately.

Mumper is quite a teacher. She lets you know in the beginning her expectations and if you can't get 103 then change you major immediately. So all those pre-med, nursing and Chem majors passing this class is critical anything lower than a B- means hard times in Chem 101. And that class is MUCH HARder. Take this slower paces class seriously and study
