Prof. Mechell is a wonderful lady. I'm always afraid to go to class because I think I'm going to do horrible, but she always reminds me how far I've come. I always leave class with confidence, and loving music even more. She truly is a great lady!

I hadn't touched a piano before this class. You have to work hard in this class if you have never touched a piano because there is a lot to learn, but that is true for any musical instrument. In the end, I was very happy with my grade (but I definitely worked to earn it). Mrs. Mechell is a good teacher and made class interesting.

my feelings are very mixed. after thinking i was doing well in this class, she sent me an email about my "lack of progress" and the next day during a test she told me i have a "natural gift and talent". i do appreciate how clear she is, however, when it comes to expectations during class. everything is written out for you pretty black and white, definitley a mother figure but i guess she only has a bachelor's and only has the job cause of her husband

Okay teacher. Sometimes she expects to much, sometimes treats you like you're in grade school, but she is efficient. Very organized, so you always know what to expect. You never know what your grade is or what you got on any of the tests/ip checks, but I got a higher grade in the end than I expected

Mrs.Mechell is a wonderful lady! She feels like a mother figure which is nice being away from home. I like her a ton!!! I will admit her classes require work, but if you do it, you'l be fine. She's given me an interest in piano which I've never had!
