Comment:
Baker is very old-school when it comes to his teaching methods. He never uses MyCourses or posts anything online. He's always very engaging and asks a lot of questions. He'll play the devil's advocate to help you get the right answer. He is also a very easy grader, not picky at all. His class can seem intimidating but you just really gotta listen.

Interesting lectures and makes the concepts clear. His tests/final heavily rely on the textbook, and surprises you with concepts that weren't discussed in class. Not a whole lot of prep for the final. Interesting class but wouldn't take again.

Very engaging if you are willing to ask some good questions. His teaching is clear, if a bit old fashioned. Go to class and take notes, you'll be golden. He's a bit gruff, but kind and helpful at the end of the day and knows what he's talking about, especially in terms of agricultural markets and economics. One of the best profs I had at McGill.

Clear and sharp, he uses a lot of graphs to illustrate. Go to lectures attentively and read your textbook accordingly, and you will learn a lot! You'd do better with a solid maths knowledge. Extremely helpful and kind, too! Catch him before or after class, as he does not have office hour in downtown campus.

Baker is an excellent teacher; very concise and SHARP. Old school with his chalkboard and projector but definitely to the point. Be present, take notes and his classes are a breeze.

Baker is an excellent teacher. His classes are engaging. He will challenge you, but in the best way. If you have any interest in the economics of agriculture take one of his classes!

Really doesn't think outside the box, this one. Would basically go over the reading in class, rushing through and not leaving time for questions. Occasionally gave examples of real world applications, but they were usually related to agriculture (but you can't fault him for that; it's what he knows best). Refuses to help students prepare for exams.
