Comment:

Totally unapproachable in class. She does not hesitate to make you feel inadequate. If I approach a teacher for help, it is interpreted that I care about the class and the time I put into it. To bad she hasn't correlated that and its probably to late. Bottom line, I will not recommended this teacher.

I took Laurie for calc 30 and she shared a class statistic after our third exam and over 80% of the class had As or Bs that is unheard of for calculus! She's an amazing teacher. Must do homework to succeed, and go to office hours if you have any questions and she will clarify concepts ect.

She is a very good teacher. She uses the time she has for lecture very well and teaches the material very well. She will always answer and explain questions you have. Does not like tardiness or not being in class. Overall, good teacher

I usually love math. This course did not interest me. She teaches slow but she is a good teacher. The tests are hard and so are the in class assignments. If you miss class or need help you have to go to her office, you can't talk to her in class like a lot of my other teachers.

Comment:

Kincheloe teaches Intro to Stats in a clear-cut way that if you are paying attention (even slightly), you will have no problem whatsoever with your grade. Intro to Stats is not a difficult course, in fact, it is on par with Algebra andor Geometry. Just do your homework and you'll be ready for the tests.

Laurie knows what she's doing and knows how to teach it. Despite taking MATH-20 for the second time, I found her way of explaining each section much better than my previous instructor. She also uses the MyMathLab which is nice because you can try the same problem multiple times and watch videos to show you how to do it. She's not an easy grader.

Laurie was a very good teacher in the classroom setting with a bounty of examples to get the lessons across and comprehensive exams that really tested your knowledge. However she was a very different person when it came to her office hours. She was rude to students when we would ask questions. She's a good choice for calc besides that.

I took this class online, she did erything she could to make this class easy to understand. She even had face to face reviews before an exam. The exams aren't the greatest, every unit you have an exam. The final exam is from unit 1 to unit 4, so make sure you actually learn the stuff. I'd recommend.

Laurie is the best calc teacher I've had at Butte (I've also had Duke and Campbell). She is very thorough, organized, and makes a huge effort to set you up to succeed in the class. She expects you to put in effort and not waste her time, which is what I feel some people mistake as "being rude." Be there to learn and there will be a mutual respect.

Pre-Algebra. Math is my worst subject so I was dreading this class. It wasn't too bad, once all the material came back to me but Laurie isn't the best teacher. She's rude and not very helpful. She zips through things without really explaining. Always be in class or you WILL fall behind drastically.

This teacher is terrible. I had her for math my first semester, and ended up dropping after 3 weeks. She was going way too fast, and I couldn't keep up with the work. She was rude, and extremely unhelpful when you asked for help, or made a comment. Doesn't accept late work, and is really rude about it. Unless you're good at math, don't take her.

Laurie was a boring teacher. She spent most of the class going over HW and did not have that much time going over the new concepts. She would make her own mistakes while lecturing which made thing confusing. I always had coffee going to her class. She is an easy teacher you just have to keep awake in her class because it does get very boring.

Laurie is awesome!!! I really can't believe she has any negative comments on here! Yeah, there's nightly homework. But it's math; what do you expect? She basically holds your hand through the entire semester. You would almost have to TRY to fail! I'm taking her Math 30 class next semester :)

Laurie is always ready to answer questions and truly wants you to succeed in her class. She gives 2 class days before each assignment is due to give plenty of time for clarification in between. It's a math class, so if you don't show up, you'll get left behind. She gives review sheets with answers attached prior to all tests and quizzes.

It's calculus, so of course you are required to show up to class and do you homework in order to understand it. She made it crystal clear and didn't assign an overwhelming amount of homework. She provided helpful study guides for exams, and went over everything that would be on the few quizzes we had. She is organized and helpful. I got an A.

You have to stay on top of your homework. If you go to her office hours and show that you are trying she will help you. Also she's pretty picky on attendance. Her tests are difficult but she gives you a review for each test. The first week or so she flies through stuff b/c its trig and alg review, but slows down right after. So don't get scared off

Laurie is a great teacher, she has a passion for math. However, this is a HARD CLASS. She is helpful, but you have to put 110% into the class if you really want a good grade. LOTS of hw, and tests require hours studying. Make sure you know your trig, you're gonna need it. Overall good teacher, but hard class.

this teacher at the beginning can seem like a wonderful teacher to have, homework due 2 days after its giving that was great but if you miss even 2 days your screwed you cant turn in late work,she's very rude. and she is just there to collect a paycheck, she spent most of the class time comparing our class to her upper calculus class. DONT TAKE HER
