Often doesn't have her thoughts collected when she starts talking so ends up rambling for a long time. Gives confusing directions and when asked to clarify makes it worse. Would be better if she could condense what she is saying to just what is important. In this class there is little respect for students personal time, class often runs over time.

Comment:
While a generally kind and knowledgeable person, Meeker is not a good teacher. I signed up for an advanced media production course with her and ended up dropping it after one quarter feeling cheated and frustrated. The complete lack of structure made her seem unprepared and disinterested in the class, which was reinforced by her own poor attendance

Laurie is a thorough professor, all of her lectures and discussions are fairly structured and to the point. Although she does a great job of encouraging her students to voice their own ideas and opinions and is extremely supportive when they do so. She's also really nice and helpful, I think she's a great professor!

Laurie is a great teacher. She is very encouraging and constructive.She was very good at making the seminar discussions go in a constructive way especially when people would run their mouths and say nothing, she could bring the conversation back to a relevant point. She is also a very sweet person!

I really really did not like her. She was uninterested in hearing students opinions-- even when she would ask us for them-- if they did not correspond to her own. She had very specific expectations of us with little leway room, and yet all of her instructions were vague and unclear. Very dismissive, and I'm not sure that she has a lot to teach.

Laurie did not respond to my SOS application, which involved a DVD of 2 film projects, a letter of recommendation, and an essay, until the last day before classes. I followed her procedure to a "T" and she rejected me mainly because I'm a transfer student so she didn't know me. I intend to file a complaint with the dean. She should notify us sooner

Wow. Not good. During seminars, she brought her dog consistently, and repeatedly inturrupted good conversation about the text to say stuff like "Look at what he's doing! He's rolling around! Isn't that cute?" I don't like seminars in general, but I hate it even more when we don't get work done. Also VERY bad in lectures. But a sweet woman, I guess.

laurie is lifechanging/amazing/sweet and able to gently encourage you through her kind heart to peel back the layers that you need to grow out of (or at least her work, what she teaches/shares will better enable you to see that they are there!)
