Comment:

Nice guy... but very hard to please. His directions seemed very vague and open for interpretation... which was great until he told us we were doing the projects wrong. As a lifelong art student, I didn't feel there was much room for creativity, but I suppose that if you are interested in learning text book art, he would be a wonderful choice. He really does have the student's best interest at heart, but it is definitely not an easy class.

1. He seemed to avoid me during class, so I never got my questions answered. 2. I had no previous drawing experience, yet that seems like what he grades on. I ended up dropping out because he was so unhelpful and I knew I would get a much better teacher at my transfer school.

I had him for a drawing class. Don't go into one of his drawing classes without drawing experience. He grades on technique, so if you aren't good at drawing, it's pretty tough to get by. He's also harsh on you when you talk. He's actually fairly helpful when he helps you, but half the time, he doesn't even get to you when you have questions.

in 103 he does not teach anything (vocab, etc) ...and in 105 he teaches a bit too much (constant slide shows and elementary vocab) ...you will not get an A on a project simply for finishing it and following instructions. be warned.
