She is really nice, and it is easy to get an A in her class. She kinda treats you like your in middle school. You have to read outloud buff sheets in groups every class, which get really annoying. If you show up, put effort into your speeches, and pay attention, it is easy to get an A. She allows you to collaborate on tests.

She has a great sense of humor. We had a really good time in class. We had four speeches and four tests. I felt like she graded easily, but fairly. Her testing methods are pretty cool - ten minutes alone and then four minutes to talk to anyone you want. It's obvious that she cares about us students. I would take her again if I had the chance.

I disagree with the person who wants to be graded based on peer evaluations. Your grade is not supposed to be based on what your peers say, otherwise som of us would be in trouble. She passes out a very clear set of written expecations for every assignment. I thought she was fair, maybe not the easiest, but I learned alot and I liked her.

She grades with no regard to the peer evaluations (unless she is removing points from your grade for not circling "what type of signpost" someone used). Arbitrarily takes away points and expects that you include all these little details that aren't part of your speech. Grades on what SHE "hears" not what you actually say.

Laurie Pratt is an awesome teacher. If you aren't the greatest speaker, you'll be much better by the time you get out of her class. She is picky on the outlines, but you get the hang of them. Only 4 speeches the entire semester. As long as you put in the time (which isn't a ton), easy A.

Class is waayyy too boring to handle. She's really picky about the outlines, they have to be done perfectly or else she takes off points. She's a nice lady, but she takes off points with tons of stuff, and I hated the class.

Professor Laurie Pratt is probably the best professor I had my freshman year in college. She is awesome. She expects you to do your best as you would in any of your other important classes, but helps and clearly gives directions along the way. She was so helpful and approachable. She makes Public Comm a really comfortable and fun experience.

Prof.Pratt always has intersting things to say,at the same time really allows u to learn how to construct a speech which i found useful in other classes.It's not as hard as people think,just follow directions.I am so glad i had her as my teacher because she is understanding and helpful.tests are easy and short,and she tells you what is on the test.

Professor Pratt is the most amazing person! She takes the time to know you personally and she's fair, consistent, and clear. You're guaranteed to learn useful skills because she really knows her stuff! I'm extremely disappointed in the negative comments people posted on her. It's foolish. I highly recommend her! She told us that if we had to miss class to go to a funeral, we had to bring her a funeral program or obituary to prove that the person was dead. If we were sick, we must come to class and she would personally determine if we were fit to be excused.
