If you're good at chemistry, take her. Appleby assigns very little homework, focusing on in-class learning. She is pretty monotone during lectures, yet is also caring and understanding. If you know what you're doing, the class is a breeze. If not, your GPA will go down like the titanic.

I took CHM 1213, Univ. Chem. 1 with her. I love, love, love this professor. She was great! Her Powerpoint lectures were clear and easy to follow. Her exams were fair. I took another professor for this class before I took her class, and it was a nightmare.

she uses a lot of powerpoint to support her lecture, although that all that her lectures are is reading mostly off of the slides. Doesn't seem there all the time and I am not sure if she really wants to help students for her own pleasure. When going to ask a question she usually will be looking at her computer and not respond 2u until she wants...

This class was my hardest class. We had to do OWL homework online that took hours on end. It was very frustrating and this class made me switch my major because I disliked chem so much. If you want an A, good luck. You will spend at least 10 hours a week studying. And you most likely will still bomb a few quizzes.

This professor is excellent. She makes sure you understand the assignments. Her powerpoint usage makes it easy for us to learn. She will stay after or come early if you need extra help. I which I could have her for all my classes.

Her style is powerpoint, it is boring but you'll learn something. The quizzes are easy if you spend an hour studying for them each week. Exams are all multiple choice 7.5points a question, regular exams are about 135pts total. Final exam is 200pts. If you study all your group assignments and old quizzes/test for the final you'll be in good shape.
