I took this class with Dr Reeves as her Intern in my MATESOL programme. It was my first class with her and one of my earliest classes with Foreign International students. Dr Reeves has developed what I can only call a "seventh sense" in teaching both ELL's and her Masters level candidates - she is deeply knowledgeable and she is a great teacher!

Comment:

Dr Reeves' Women's Studies class was very cool. We read several (6,7) novels for this class and our class presentations and discussions were always engaging and thought provoking. We examined the marginalised, the voiceless and those on the wrong side of the power equation in society. Students taught this class under her guidance - she is a gem!

I have had the pleasure of taking English 459 with Dr. Reeves as her Intern. Grammar for Teachers prepares students for the eventuality of teaching English Grammar at the Elementary, Secondary or College level of instruction. Thanks to Dr. Reeves' command of the subject, I was able to become well prepared to teach this difficult subject.

Comment:

Probably one of the worst teachers I've ever had. Sure, the class is easy. But you won't learn a thing and you might die of boredom in the process. The only way I could get through this class is by chugging caffeine and reminding myself that I had a good grade.

LOVED Dr. Reeves. Her class was amazing and she's an incredible teacher who truly cares about her students. I'm not an English major and I wish I had an excuse to take more classes from her. I'll actually miss her class.

Best instructor ever! Show up to every class and be respectful to earn reciprocal respect. Plan to write a lot by hand and plan to learn more than you dreamed possible. Sometimes seems disorganized, but it's an opportunity for students to be organized and work fast.

It has been such a pleasure to take this class with Dr. Reeves. She is one of the kindest and most patient people I have ever met. She is a wonderful teacher. She is willing to meet with any student and will do all she can to help. You will need to study, but the assignments really do help you to become a better writer.

Dr Reeves was my thesis director and she is my mentor. Her guidance and patience empowered me to thrive as we worked together on my thesis. Her knowledge of the research literature and genres of research methods allowed me to develop my voice as a professional writer and researcher. Grammar is a difficult class for any student or teacher. Learning is equal parts student and teacher. Our professor knows grammar better than any individual whom I have ever met. She is gifted at teaching this subject. Looking for easy? Go back to high school.Looking to learn and understand in a way you will keep? Take her classes.

Unfortunately, this Graduate level course had students who apparently were not able to meet the class criteria or to perform at this level. I found this class to be outstanding in breadth and depth, and our professor's knowledge of the course content superb. No, she is not easy. She just produces great teachers. She is the best teacher I ever had.

She's so high up on her horse about her degrees and theses, she doesn't even know how to get off of it! It's annoying that she's such a show-off. On the other hand she creates a really nice learning environment, she's helpful and accessible. But beware of her arrogance; it's hard to get over it.

She saved our class from being canceled and taught ALOT of good material. She was also quite available and helpful for a prof. Only problems I saw were that her PowerPoint presentations were insanely long and hastily put together and she seemed rushed through the whole class which limited student interaction. Yet overall she was pretty darn good.
