He is great at giving lectures but his tests are ridiculously hard. He likes to give multiple choice problems with answers like all of the above, 2 of the above, and none of the above on every problem. It makes it hard to confidently take his exams.

Comment:

Best professor I've had, hands down. His explanations for the most part are crystal clear. If you at least come out with a C, you will know physiology pretty well. That said, I don't think this class is as difficult as its reputation leads you to believe. I was able to get very high B's/low A's with 3-4 days studying beforehand. Best class in COSAM

Probably one of the hardest classes at Auburn. Wit says that you must study at least 2 hours a day to get a C, and I believe him. Take notes and make sure to do the end of chap quest for bonus. Go to his office he is really helpful & be careful of the lab final, it is super hard and detailed. great class, great teacher, you will learn so much

People are NOT kidding when they say to study every day. I didn't and did not end up with a stellar grade. But Dr. Wit is FABULOUS teacher. Great personality for such a dense subject. I wish he taught another class so I could take him again...with easier tests. Seriously, though, STUDY EVERYDAY.

Big Larry is awesome! You will learn more in Mammalian than any other class combined. He has excellent character and he will teach you what hard work is about. Stay on top of your material if you want an A....I studied a week before intensely and made a B

He is a great man and a really nice guy, but you need to study EVERY day after class. if you study everyday then you will pass the class just fine. if you wait till two weeks from the test, you will fail...it's as simple as that

Hands down the hardest class in COSAM. Requires intense dedication and study in order to do well in the class. You must understand the material backwards and forwards and apply it. Dr. Wit is awesome though and you'll be glad that you had him when you start professional school and are miles ahead of the other students.

Want to succeed in Mammalian? Go to class. Every day. Study. Every day. Harness the minutiae that he teaches to understand the broader concepts and you will do well. Lab is easier than class and fun IMO. Also, attend SI sessions.

Really great class. Made up for a lot of the crap classes I've had to take. It did require some work, but mainly due to the volume of material. The structure of the questions makes it difficult to just halfway know the material and do well, so study accordingly.

This class is very interesting and you will learn a lot. You must go to class every day. Study all the time and be prepared for the quizzes. The quizzes are a great way to make yourself a safety net. Go to SI and ask questions. Do you lab reports as soon as you can. Do not get behind!

Insane class; Volume of material and difficulty of tests dwarf any other class in COSAM. Yes, any other class. If you aren't studying 1-2 hours a day 5-6 days a week the entire semester, expect a C, and that's only if you are a good crammer. Dr. Wit is helpful and the class is the most interesting I've taken (and it's not even close).

Comment:

The class is hard and requires a lot of work, but you have to expect that from a 6-hour course. It's a lot of material. If you go to class and keep up (study your notes frequently) you can take advantage of the bonus pop quizes. The exams are harder than they need to be, but get the easy points in the lab and on quizes and an A is do-able.
