When I took this class i hated it. I thought he was a jerk. He even told me I would never make it as a teacher. Now that I look back, he was the one teacher who I learned the most from, and he made me work harder to get where I am today, being a teacher in my own classroom.

One can learn more from Leander Brown than ANY other prof teaching the same courses. Sure, he has a different approach, and sure, he has VERY high expectations. Look past those things. You are ADULTS now, and he's treating you like your boss really WILL treat you. You'll be expected to have an answer or get out of the way in the REAL world!

Tells hysterical personal stories. Major project for this class was research paper w/a presentation component. He didn't set a time limit, had no format for them, and booked too many each class period. People ended up going weeks after they were supposed to, and he didn't let people who were absent for illness present.

For all of you thinking of taking a class with Dr. Brown, here is my advice - DON'T DO IT!! DO NOT! He is the worst prof I have EVER had! You can't understand a thing he says, he rips apart students for asking a simple question, and is just flat out rude! Pray that he retires - SOON!

I think this prof is a ****. He shows up to class late, stubbling and slurring his words. He rambles on in class about nothing that has to do with class, tests, or the readings. He uses the same tests that he used 50 years ago, even though the text and the theories have changed. I say: DONT.

TERRIBLE PROF! Don't listen to the ratings that say he is good! He is terrible, unhelpful, bitter, and obviously hates his job. Avoid taking this class with him at all costs...you will want to change your major.

I had Dr. Brown for Dynamics last year and didn't have any problem. He is not a bitter old man...he just has a different sense of humor. His expectations are not unreasonable, and overall, if you give him a chance, you can learn a lot from him. Don't avoid Dr. Brown based on these postings!

This guy is the toughest teacher I've had. The tests aren't that bad, but the projects suck. He likes to belittle you and he will make you redo your field experience logs multiple times. I did manage to get an A in the class, due to the extra credit I got
