She was alright, but produced a boring class. Relied heavily on PowerPoints. My GPA is 2.9 and I had to work hard to get a C in this class. Lots of group work, which made me make a couple new friends, which was nice. Again, nice lady, but a somewhat dull class.

Really nice woman who clearly cares about her students and wants them to pass. Was a really fair grader and gave as many marks as she reasonably could, and significantly weighted the midterms in favour of each student. Lots of in-class assignments which were easy grade boosters. Final exam wasnt cumulative either. Highly recommend her for intro.

Its sad that this course is not a true measurement of a students intelligence. I swear she decides who will pass the course and not pass before the midterm depending on if she likes you or not. If you ask for help she is more than willing to help but it almost confuses you more! Be prepared to sacrifice anything else in your life for torture!!

Chalmers is an amazing professor and her organization is incredible. She makes study guides and that's ALL you have to study. Her criteria for assignments are VERY clear. She is very helpful, answers e-mails fast, gives lots of feedback on assignments/labs and marks them quickly. Although there was a lot of material the class was still worth it.

Lee is a BEAUTIFUL human being. She has a level of patience that God would be envious of, and treats all fairly. That being said, the amount of work required in her course has been OVERWHELMING, bordering inappropriate. I appreciate her help SO MUCH, but wish I had better memories to look back on for this class because I love her so much. :(

Found she left us very unprepared for the midterm, I had to drop the class before it because i just didn't know what to study. Wouldn't recommend this class at all.

She is very monotone, not very interesting. takes forever to hand back assignments and tests. make sure you follow the study guides but even though the final was nothing alike any of the study guides.. asks for your opinion but what it in the opinion of niaman the author of the text..

Her tests don't really go off of what she actually covers in class, it's completely based off of the text. She makes study guides for the tests. live by those study guides or you will not pass! Takes a really long time getting graded work back. She weights your grades so that your highest grades are worth most and lowest grades worth least

Would highly recommend not taking this class. She is not a very good Prof. The lectures are very boring and I'm really not sure what she does at the school considering the only thing she talks about is regurgitated from the textbook. It is purely a textbook class. Read the textbook you will be fine but you might go nuts sitting through her lectures

The course material could be interesting if she was more interesting. Overall, I struggled to get through her lectures because they were very boring. Could have gotten so much more out of the class if she used more than one perspective on the class material (she loves Naiman).

Uh... she is a very tough marker, critiques anything you do and gives out study guides less than a week in advance of exams and expects you to know it all by exam and ace it. She has high and unrealistic expectations of everyone in class... that's all I have.

Monotone - hard marker - very dry - study guides only help if you read the material - not a lot of class work/discussion - READ A LOT if you take the course- should not be an intro prof because she steers students away from sociology.

3 exams, very hard if you don't read ALL the material. Ya gotta read the textbook and 10 page articles for her class each week. Worth it, cuz its super interesting (most of the time), but if you don't actually go to class, take notes and read there's no way to pass.

Very dry, very boring, unenthusiastic. She stands in front of the class and mumbles for an hour and twenty minutes. Inappropriately high expectations of the class, and criticizes wherever she can even if she gave you a good mark. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE STAY AWAY

Not a great sociology prof at all. Vey hard marker and makes her lectures very dry by just reading from the slides. Should not be an intro prof because it definitely turned me away from the subject. She isn't very helpfull either when you go to see her in her office, I recommend taking sociology with someone else

labs are very difficult and not explained properly in class. she always is willing to schedule meeting to help you but basically has to because nobody knows what they are doing. a ton of hassle for less than mediocre marks, even for an A student. very boring classes.

She is not helpful. Assigns WAY too much reading, her questions make no sense, the marking is completely unfair. Relies that you MEMORIZE articles rather than knowing the information. Tries to get too much class discussion and will not give an answer until there is one, which are not clear. Stay way from her.

Very Intelligent Prof and Expert in her field. Lectures 99% slides and very little class participation unfortunately. Exam questions are very "wordy" for an intro level, and hard to distinguish what she is actually asking for. She is very approachable and always willing to help. Would not recommend for Intro Soc though.
