Had him as a professor years ago. Lot's of ego. Class was fairly easy and despite good test scores I got a lower grade because of class attendance. Apparently, attendance didn't matter where female students were concerned. When I spoke to him about he was condescending and completely unprofessional. Smug as hell. Looks like things haven't changed.

This was THE hardest class I have EVER taken at New Paltz. The work load is bearable once you get the hang of it. You have to WORK HARD for an A. The quizzes and tests are timed making them really challenging. Participation during discussions is HUGE and essays are graded toughly. Even though it was hard, it was a really rewarding A to earn.

Conflict Management (online)- Professor Cahn is unbelievably nit-picky about the stupidest things. He has insulted me as well as other students in the class as seen in grading remarks and discussion boards. He assigns way too much work and has increasingly gotten tougher with grading throughout the course. I don't recommend taking this course.

His directions are confusing and he's so nit-picky about little details that are insignificant and cares more about the intro to your paragraph than the content of your paper. He deducts points for going 20 words over the length he asked for, and made me re-send him a msg because he didn't like the subject line (what?!). His tests are hard, too.

Way to picky about super insignificant details and gives confusing directions. This class would be way less frustrating if he focused more on the content and not whether or not our introduction was attention grabbing or if we put the correct title in the subject line for a submission. Would not recommend this professor.

He is funny. Good teacher. Attendance counts as much as test. The test are very tricky, which is the worst part because the material is so easy. You can get an A if you skate by and then study for the 2 tests.

Okay, Is he a nice guy, yes does he try to make you laugh with his corny jokes yes, but jesus people its a public speaking class its supose to be easy! Its not that serious!!!! He is wayyyyy to anal about the smallest things and grades very hard. Trust me he can be way tooo unresonable. Public speaking should not stress you out that much!

An excellent professor. I can't emphasize enough to print out all of the notes before you go over them in class... several people that failed to do so had a difficult time in the course. He is willing to help. Go to office hours if you need help.
