Nice guy who I would love to chat with outside class. I took a special topics class for a Humanities credit and I worked for that A. The class was him lecturing about the book material, which was interesting, but no class discussion. Extra credit is offered, which honestly saved my grade. Good prof, dont blow off the class as easy.

He's a really laid back professor. Each class is started with him writing the terms for the day on the board, then he just starts on the topics. It's important to listen when he's speaking and I would recommend sharing notes. Pretty good at replying to emails, very understanding about absences and will get in contact with you if needed.

His class, Life After Death, was fascinating, but sometimes boring. He cares about the content that he teaches. Offers few assignments: 4 quizzes (all multiple choice questions) that are difficult to pass if you skip class or don't take notes. 2 exams; midterm + final (sorta difficult) plus 2 essays. If you don't take notes don't expect to do well.

Professor Irwin is so interesting. He has experience with all of the subjects he discusses so he is able to deviate from the notes to tell stories that help to keep interest and promote the topic at hand. I would absolutely take his class again. In my course, only 2 short papers were required, but we had around 5 quizzes and 4 tests. I would recommend Prof. Irwin to anyone!

So, this isn't one of those humanities that is super easy, you actually do have to put effort into his class to get an A. Overall, I like him, and would take him again, just isn't fair i guess someone who look religion with someone else didn't work as hard. However he is a VERY good teacher.

I love Professor Irwin! He is by far one of the best professors I've ever had, and probably will have. His lectures are so fun and inspirational to listen to. Attendance is not mandatory, but you would miss out on a lot of notes if you do miss class. He doesn't believe in final exams; just doing a paper as your final grade. Take his class ! :)

The class I took with Lee was a course on Lakota Indians, which I did not think I'd have any interest in. However, I actually learned a lot and looked forward to going to class. Assignments are always clear and his lecture style is great for efficient note-taking. Would definitely take a course with him again.

Had him for an honors interdisciplinary called Life After Death. VERY cool subject. Dr. Irwin is so knowledgeable and passionate about what he does! He is super nice and helpful and understands that students have A LOT of things to do. He gave us 2 extensions on papers because he knew we were stressed. He genuinely cares about his students!

He is a super nice man and I really enjoyed his class. He makes you really think about things. Make sure you read what is assigned. The tests come straight from the readings. Need to go to class to get notes on the lecture. Lectures are kind of boring but it is a very interesting class. Take your computer to type notes because he talks kind of fast

THE BEST professor I've had at CofC. He's brilliant, and shows a lot of enthusiasm for what he teaches. Don't take for an easy A. You have to earn an A, but is course is worth it. You learn so much and it's never dull. Wish he taught more courses.
