Never did any of the readings, never paid attention in lecture. Still managed to get an A. Her lectures are so long and boring. I had her for 3 hours on a FRIDAY and there were only 4 of us in the class! PURE AGONY. Her lectures are all over the place and it's so hard to follow along. Very confusing.

I took this class during the summer which was a lot of material to cover in six weeks. Instructor Parello is a nice lady but her lectures were very often confusing and hard to follow. I would not recommend taking this class in the summer or intercession unless you will have a lot of time to dedicate to it.

Be prepared to have a separate binder for this class. She hands out a lot of readings & helpful study guides. There is a lot of information to read about, but don't get scared. She is a fair grader, if you do your work. She tends to be a little messy, but what can you expect with a class of 50? Attend class, take notes, and study study study.

I went into this class with high hopes, but was unable to follow Parello's line of thought. She is very sweet and willing to help, but her teaching style is a bit too unstructured for me. Very difficult to follow along in her lectures, not because of the subject, but because of the way she lectures.

Sweet when she wants to be. PHOTOCOPY ALL WORK SUBMITTED, in case stuff gets misplaced. Chapters are addressed sporadically. Not vocally clear or loud. Confusing when you look back at your lecture notes. Doesn't consistently say what is important to notate, so recognize keywords. Pay attention and you'll pass. Study guides are important for tests.

Ms. Parello made the class interesting, I love listening to her lectures, so many times I wished they were longer, I learned so much from her, I admire and respect her intelligence.

She is kind and is helpful in class but she is very confusing. The book is necessary and some googling. She doesn't have office hours (she told me) so good luck. The class itself is worse than her

She is not an entertaining teacher at all. She is very monotone and is hard to understand sometimes. Most of the time you can't comprehend what she is trying to teach you. The only good thing about her is that she is a pretty easy grader.

OMG THIS LADY IS SOMETHING ELSE. SHE'S UNCOMPREHENSIBLE. NO ONE IS ABLE TO FOLLOW WHAT SHE IS SAYING. SHE'LL SAY SOMETHING, AND NEXT MEETING SHE'LL SAY ANOTHER. HONESTLY, IF I PASS THIS CLASS, I COULD TELL YOU THE WHOLE CLASS WINGED THE FINAL, AND DID NOT LEARN ANYTHING. GOOD LUCK ON TAKING HER, IF YOU WANNA LEARN, HIGHLY REC. NOT TAKING HER.

Ms. Parello is an awesome teacher. Yes, she does talk circles, but she really means well. She is funny, and goes out of her way to help students. VERY easy grader, gives you AMPEL opportunities to get things done. I did have her @ 4 pm, so I did fall asleep once or twice. But, I loved this class, and my major is BioChem!

She is a pretty good teacher, but a little verbose. Sometimes she had difficulty articulating answers in a way that a bigining class would understand. Also, the wording on her tests could be difficult. She is a very good teacher though, and very knowledgable. Make sure to do your work, and if you have trouble, ask a student to study w/you.

She is extremely knowledgeable about philosophy, but I had an afternoon class and often she seemed tired. I think it was really hard for her to teach to a class that she knew was less than ideal for philosophy so she accepted the inevitable & didn't push us. She is sweet, but elderly & the class was just not what I had hoped for.

She may be extremely knowledgeable about Philosophy, but it doesn't mean she can teach it...The class is insanely boring, the books she uses are hard to interpret and her lectures about the reading contradict each other. She may have a sweet disposition, but DO NOT TAKE HER.

DONT TAKE HER! reading the textbook will help you understand the class. But actually going to class and listening to her contradict herself makes it confusing. When I would ask her questions about certain topics, she couldn't answer it because it wasn't a question in the book.

This class isn't as tough as some kids think. Most of the immature students had trouble with this course. Of course some of the info is hard to grasp....it's philosophy. Just need to keep an open mind and try not to miss any classes. Text is used alot. Professor Parello absolutely knows her stuff.

reading the book will make sense to you. Being in class and listen to her contradict herself and students is lame. She may have a doctorate or masters but that doesnt mean she can teach. She only confuses students and as someone over 30 she treats the class like children. DONT TAKE HER!!!!

I found her class fascinating and learned a great deal; I highly recommend it. She is a truly intelligent and nice person who is very knowledgeable about Philosophy. Don't listen to her critics below that were so "confused" in her classes--she has a masters and part of a doctorate in Philosophy, and clearly, she knows more than they do!

I had to withdraw midway through the course because of work demands, but my experience in Ms. Parello's philosophy class was entirely positive. Her course preparation and presentation were excellent; her classes were enlightening and entertaining. Her subject knowledge is extensive, her delivery thorough and compassionate.

Do not take her! She is by far the WORST teacher I've ever had. Yes, she is a very nice lady, but she cannot teach for beans. She is very unclear in her teaching, so you basically teach yourself. She's very confusing and unorganized. There was not a day in class when you didn't hear someone say "huh?" There was just too much confusion going on.

She trys to help you when your stuck, but she only makes it more confusing. There was very seldom a time when she didn't confuse most of the students. Tests are easy if you study. She needs to learn to be a hell of a lot clearer.
