To most students, the downfall to Dr. Jackson's teaching methods is he expects you to know everything by heart. If you look at a problem, you need to know how to do it immediately. The homework coincides with the exams by forcing you to complete problems, and actually understand them. Great teacher, hard course, be ready to put in the effort.

Best professor on the URI Engineering faculty. Class is notoriously hard, but diligence and curiosity are noticed and accounted for. He knows all of his students by name, and drives students to excel. Great professor, incredibly useful class for those interested in signals processing.

It's the one class i dreaded the most, yet couldn't wait to take. If you think you are ready for his exams, you're wrong! He tests not the homework but the basic concepts. It's true, when you have completed this class, getting your EE degree is jsut a formality!

This guy was the best teacher I have ever had. I mean yea i finished the semester with a C- but this class taught me not only about the circuits bout how to study... He's an extremely nice guy... and you will have to spend some tiem in the lib... my own personal helpful thought.. GET A TUTOR WHEN HE OFFERS ONE... even if passed the first exam

Extremely smart and tells you what you need to know. Willing to help with any problems you have, so ask questions! Go to class if you want to pass. Also, doing the homework and making sure it's correct is definitely a must. Study Study Study and you'll do fine!

He will throw the material at you in a way never shown before, so the only way to study is to know the basics. A group of about 10 of us studied of a total of about 20-25hrs, knew the material solid, and got grades from 59-71, average in the middle. I've heard of many people having to take him twice, some 3 times...keep in mind, all smart people.

Ok. If you say this guy isn't difficult then you're an idiot. About 1/2 the people drop the class before the midterm. He wrote the book on it so he knows everything, and lets you know that he knows everything. No doubt the hardest teacher at URI, and your grade is based on the final, which is 100% cumulative. Prof Jackson is a Great teacher. his class is hard but he teaches it well and you will learn the material. after his class you will be well prepared for Electronics. anyone who rates him bad must have expected to slide by but ended up finding out the hard way that that wasn't gonna happen.

If youre looking for an easy class dont take this one but take it at another school.Jackson is one of the lead pioneers of the field that he teaches,and knows everything about it.He's more than happy to answer any questions.It was one of the toughest classes Ive ever taken,but with the best teacher.
