Professor Martin is brilliant and clearly knows her stuff. Her class is hard but if you put in the effort, do all the readings, participate in class and study you can do well. She has so many stories and although her lectures were sometimes scattered, overall this class was fantastic and she is more than willing to work with you outside of class.

Comment:

Professor Martin's class was in no way easy but she is so knowledgeable about the Middle East that I often felt inspired to put in the extra effort. Her lectures and readings are what the tests are based off and she is always is available for extra help outside of class. If you did the readings and participate, you will be just fine.

She is an intelligent woman with lots to share, but easily gets distracted in class in her lectures. If you go to extra lectures you can get extra credit. I wished we studied more about other places, but it seems the Middle East is all she cares for. Make sure you do the assigned readings as she likes people who participate in discussion.

Lenore is a brilliant professor, and you should really enjoy her classes if you're interested in the subject. Highly intelligent, but she gets off track a lot during lectures. Take detailed notes. Do the assigned journal articles but skim the textbook. Go to her office hours, sit and chat. Dr. Martin has some amazing stories to tell.

Read every single one of the assigned readings, and actually pay attention to what you are reading; it is very important to her. Try and keep up with what is happening in the international arena. Listen to her long and often random lectures very well, and take the best notes you can. Overall you need to be very dedicated to her class every day!!
