Amazingly smart!!! It is unbelievable how much he knows about history. The only thing is that he doesn't refer to the book (in HIST 2411) and he doesn't post his notes on the Internet so you have to make sure you are good at taking notes if you take his class.

I took all of Mr. Theriault's classes. He is absolutely the best history professor on campus, perhaps in the province. A veritable fountain of knowledge, he can talk to you about any subject without the use of notes and will guide you along as much as he can.

I'd never seen a prof who's able to give an entire class (75 minutes) from memory (without once looking at his notes) until I took his Canadian history class.
