Dr. Deb is a very straight to the point prof. You have 5 exams and a final, in which half of it is oral. The exams include word banks and pictures. Attendance is taken each class. Assigns homework every night but rarely checks it for completion. I've had 5 yrs of spanish prior to this class and I'm not fond of her teaching methods (or lack thereof)

Comment:

Friendly and outgoing, but sometimes her personality is a bit much. She gets annoyed when people don't understand the work, but she'll explain it. Online homework is pretty easy, and her tests are okay as long as you prepare. Attendance is definitely necessary for a good grade. She doesn't call on people often, so there is not a lot of pressure.

Dr. Deb is nice but you can see from her reviews she's better suited for lower level classes when it isn't your major. You don't actually improve much from her courses if you're looking to become fluent. Class is pretty disorganized. We had times where we had no assignments at all and then weeks where we were working on three major papers at once.

Dr. Deb is nice but she is really all over the place. I'm imagining she's good for lower level classes but for upper level major courses you don't really learn or improve much. She talks about very basic things in class and then tests on really specific details. Nobody in our class really knew what was going on.

Pretty easy class, she makes class fun and entertaining. You really don't have to buy the book you can use the one online (don't waste your money). Barely makes you do speaking activities which is great. Take her if you want a great professor.

This lady drove me and my entire class nuts. It's a reading class and we got into really hard works and she would just spend class time joking around and acting stupid. It was entertaining for a few days but then none of us knew the material. Personality gets old really fast made me almost want to switch my major. I won't be taking her again.

In spanish 103 she was very easy and fun but in 220 its like night and day. In the beginning of the semester we went from reading children's stories to hard core poetry and literature. And then she requires 100% comprehension with almost no help. Make study groups and you should pass

She's a good teacher overall. I wouldn't really buy the book, because if you just use her powerpoints you can ace the quizzes. She gives you study guides of what will be on the tests before you take them, so they're not that hard to pass. She's funny sometimes and always willing to help. You can turn things in epically late.

I wasn't crazy about her. The homework and on-line problems were stupid and confusing. She didn't actually teach me how to do anything in Spanish. She should spend more time coherently talking and teaching instead of talking about drinking and trying to be cool - you're a four foot Spanish professor, you're not cool. And what is up the dumb noises?

I dreaded spanish prior to taking Dr.Deb. she makes the class fun and doesn't make you do a ton of recordings like some of the other spanis h 103 profs. Take her if you have to take a spanish, it'll be worth your time

Textbook was pointless, class was powerpoint based and pronounciation wasn't even corrected most of the time. The test material was seldomly based on powerpoints or the text material s the students didn't even know what to study. All she does is swear in Spanish. I wouldn't recomend her.
