Comment:
Prof. Diepeveen is a pretty good teacher and his lectures are often good to attend. However when it comes to assignments they are often all marked my TAs who have a strong basis toward different students. Your mark will overall depend on how lucky you get when getting assigned a TA.

Unless you really like English, lectures are so boring. He is super unapproachable and anyone I know who did speak to him had nothing but terrible things to say. Went out of his way to be rude and unaccommodating. Will never take an English course again, in part because of him.

I loved Len as a prof! He is such a smart man and has a wonderful sense of humour. I totally recommend taking any of his classes, he makes the material quite interesting and I laughed at every lecture! You can really tell he loves the subject matter, and hell make you love it too.

Diepeveen is a great prof - he really cares that you do well. I would recommend coming to class because although he posts his slides online, there's a lot of extra material that he talks about, and there are frequent clicker quizzes/participation questions. Generally entertaining and thorough lectures.

You may not need to attend his lectures but you'll want to. I actually like his lectures because Len always makes you laugh. He asked us what age group uses the word "Bae" one class for nothing more than personal interest. All in all, there's never(or should I say, rarely) a dull moment with Len as your Prof

Very funny guy, but I had a hard time listening during his lectures. I went for attendance purposes, but otherwise didn't find his lectures to be all that helpful in furthering my knowledge of the material. Make sure you put effort into the papers, the marking scheme is pretty tough. He tells you exactly what is on the final, study what he says.

Love love love Leonard Diepeveen. Amazing prof. He makes even the simple (but also super interesting books he chooses) seem so beautiful. He is very passionate about English and it translates into his work. Cannot wait for next semester. Already sad that this is probably the only course I'll have with him. Hilarious guy.

Only took English 1000xy to satisfy my writing requirement but it ended up being one of my favourite classes. Len is the best. He gives really interesting lectures on the material, his anecdotes keep the class engaged and he's a genuinely lovely guy. Tutorial can be a bit boring as people rarely participate but the TA's are good and fair markers

AMAZING professor! Not only does he make english seem a lot less boring, he tells jokes and little stories to connect to the content of the course which actually makes it easier and more fun to remember. I have never laughed so hard in a lecture before than in his! HIGHLY recommend taking his classes!

Prof. Diepeveen revived my love for English. I only took the course because it was required, and I ended up enjoying it a lot- and I'm a science student! It's not a bird course, but it's also not so hard that you can't do well. The class is interesting, so I actually went to it. And he is an awesome guy- always makes you laugh! Totally recommend!!

One of the best professors at Dal. Intelligent, very enthusiastic, great teaching style, funny and keeps you interested in the material. Very encouraging of students. Can pick on you though. Not a bad marker (but TAs can often ruin that) Very genuine person indeed!

Professor Diepeveen is a great prof. He enduces students too consider literary works from a different perspective. His lectures are interesting and engaging and he often has a quirky story to tell. I would definitely recommend him, but only if you're truly interested in literature. This is not a bird course.
