By FAR one of my favorite professors... it's too bad he is no longer here to make philosophy and UH more fun and interesting. Had him for logic and intro to philosophy... One of the most intelligent and down to earth professors I've ever had. :'[

He was a difficult professor, his tests were hard. But his lectures were interesting and he held good classes. If you didn't understand he would keep going over it. I hated his class and loved it at the same time. If you were stupid coming in you were not going out. Its sad that he is gone, what a loss for any future UH PHIL students.

RIP Dr. Marenchin. Wow, words can't express how shock I am. I just saw/talked to him; we were sitting in class Monday morning pissed cause he didn't show up. How shameful of us now, this really saddens me. He was an interesting professor, he kept us laughing our butts off. Though he was super hard (doesn't matter anymore), he was so much fun.

We got a "TA" not sure if he really was but he made all the tests after the first one. The first exam that was created by the professor it was rather easy. You must attend every single class, take good notes, ask questions if you don't understand something. He really wants you to learn, so he'll ask if anyone has questions he really does try.

AMBIGUOUS IN CLASS. HE SEEMS UNORGANIZED AND SKIPPS ALL OVER THE PLACE DURING HIS LECTURES. HE GIVES A REVIEW FOR HIS TESTS BUT A LOT OF THE WORK IS FROM THE NOTES. HE DOES NOT FOLLOW THE BOOK AND DOES NOT MAKE IT CLEAR AT WHAT POINT IN THE BOOK HE IS LECTURING FROM. HIS LECTURES ARE VERY INTERESTING.

First off let me start by saying, his tests are HARD. I mean people dropped his class after the first test. Other than that he is a good professor no doubt his curves just don?t match his difficulty.

His lectures are quite interesting. You buy 7 books, and there are 5 tests over either one or two of the books, and a 5-page paper. He has review days, but they're REALLY misleading from what the tests really are. The tests were SUPER hard and the curves were NOT that great. Go to class, take GOOD notes, DEFINITELY read the books, & STUDY hard.

Good teacher. Covers the information very well, though he barely even grazes over any of the books he assigns. He's a very informal person and very cynical. Don't take the class if you don't like getting your views berated to some extent. He's not a bad person, he just tries to make people think. Tests are very ambiguous, class is all lecture.

Tests are hard, but not impossible... If you go to every class and read all of the required readings you should have no problem getting a high b... A's are hard but not impossible... this class is definitely a challenge, but I learned a lot, and importantly, a lot about ethics...

Classes are very enjoyable. Prof makes jokes which are very entertaining and also pertain to the material. MUST GO TO CLASS in order to grasp concepts. Tests are very hard and need to adjust to way tests are. MC and essay on each test. MUST BUY BOOKS or you will be very lost in class. Will pass if you show effort but might not be the grade you want
