Professor Schuster is the best Professor I had in freshman year. He always offers to help. I always showed up to his office hours and he not only taught me politics, but he taught me many life lessons that I will always remember. Definitely take this Professor he loves politics and will do his best to help you out if you work hard.

He is so informed on past and present Politics and history. But his test are hard. I loved his class and really couldn't put the time into it that required but Professor Schuster is passionate about politics.

He encourages students to participate so you get a letter grade higher. He makes the class interesting and he rarely mentions his own political views- not to mention he goes off of both sides of the political spectrum. Great guy too. I rarely like these kinds of classes but I enjoy his. Class is manageable too- 2 tests 1 paper and no hw.

I loved Professor Schuster, I wish he taught more classes but that was the most interesting class I've ever taken at Hofstra. He's really passionate about politics and he encourages students to participate and if you do he will recognize you for it and put that towards your final grade regardless of your exam grades. I miss this class.

Took this class to fulfill a requirement, I thought I was going to get a C+ but I got an A but it still still scared me. If you are not a good test taker avoid this class, 7 students failed the first exam I was not one of them, but I have a good background in the American political system workings.

If you're not into politics, this class will definitely suck. I like Schuster a lot. He's really sweet and the lectures are interesting. The tests are tough, even if you study, unless poli-sci is your thing. So... Schuster is great, but the material is hard. Memorization is key. If your book report is good he'll weight it higher than your tests...

He knows his stuff. The class was manageable: two tests, a book report, and a final. If you get at least a B on the report and the final you will get an A in the class. The tests seem hard but if you study there's nothing to worry about.

I thought that american politics was going to be the same boring stuff I learned in middle school. But with Professor Schuster I have learned so much. He's the type of professor you tell loves to not teach but he really loves the subject. Tests are pretty easy if you study. He's such a nice, helpful man too. Take him!!

Excellent professor. One of the best professors on Hofstra's campus. Extremely professional. Clearly has his opinions in the political spectrum, but he rarely comments on his own political views, if he does, he generally provides a logical intelligent reason why. It's no cake walk, you do have to study for the class, but you'll learn a lot from him

Real good professor that makes the material understandable. Tests are pretty easy, and there's a small paper that's a book review. Class is pretty enjoyable and he's a real cool guy.

Generally an okay guy. His best moments are when speaking off the cuff about topics that interest him. When it comes to the curriculum though, he recites (or should I say preaches) from pages he's already writen. He gives very few assignments, but assigns them big chunks of your final grade, so make sure to study a lot for each one.

Great prof. Lectures straight from notes, but if you ask questions and get involved in discussions it is an interesting class. Need to study for midterm and final (25 multiple choice ?s and an essay), but there is a review for both. Also need to read book from list provided and write 4-pg review. Attendance important.

HE NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO TEACH. This man writes down his lectures as a speech and then reads them in class. That is not a good teaching method.

Great Professor, knows his stuff, reads from notes but when you ask a question, he's dead on. Tests are not difficult if you take decent notes, a very fair man. I am sorry he only teaches two classes.

His class was so interesting to go to...I can actually engage in political conversations with people and know what I am talking about. He teaches with a twist, and tells you stories that you will not want to miss! Very interesting and open to opinions, good if you like interactive classes not boring ones straight from the text. My favorite teacher!

it's only been 3 weeks , but I have to say this guy in awesome. he presents the material in such a great way, and has a TOTALLY fair grading policy. you actually will want to go to class because of his presentation. the topic is boring, to me at least...but he makes it interesting. he realizes not everyone likes politics and accomodates us.
