Class participation was 20% (it was a frosh seminar) but I didn't say a word all year and I didn't lose any points directly for that. Essays were easy and leniently graded. Just show up to class and act like you're paying attention and you'll be fine.

very good prof, tries to make classes as fun as possible, take lots of notes and start studying early and you'll be fine on the tests- just study the outlines, watch out for the movies though, drink lots of caffeine before them!

Learned so much, and Professor Shaw is so much fun! She is down to earth and real, and she knows so much about the Maya. Her own experiences and funny twists add color to an already fascinating subject.
