She really loves music and has total respect for the creators. She is so inspiring and you know why music is so appreciated and where it was created from. I thought it would be boring but it was fun! I looked forward to going to class. Everyone in the class was involved and in tune with one another. Youll love it! Great experience!

She's really passionate about her subject, which helps a lot. She gives a lot of different options for the concerts you have to go to outside of class as well. Overall, as long as you keep showing up the class should be easy.

Comment:

She is overall good teacher, but she does have noticeable flaws. The biggest one is that she doesn't speak with confidence; she'll directly ask a question and get frustrated when nobody answers it. She also tends to rush in material during the last 5 minutes of class. She does strive for improvement and is open to critique. I would still recommend.

I went in knowing nothing about classical music and came out a fan. I wouldn't recommend buying the book since most of the material in her tests can be found on the internet or by taking good notes during lectures. She gives weekly assignment that are pretty easy to complete. She's very passionate and I'd recommend her to any music lover.

She was a pretty solid teacher. If you have some background in music, you will not need the book. She does test quite often and makes you attend concerts, but it's nice having a teacher so passionate about music. I wish I had heard more theatrical and pop music during the lectures. She tends to focus on symphonies because she is in one.

Not having a musical background will make this class a little bit more difficult to understand but youtube is a lifesaver. For the concert reports, make the sacrifice and wake up to attend Sunday Chatter.

Easy class that was very enjoyable. She is very clear on what is needed. Tests are easy if you have been attending. You do have to go to 2 concerts during the term but easy to do if you plan ahead. Although I thought it would be boring she made it fun to learn about early music.

Way too much work for a fine arts credit. The work is not difficult, however very time consuming, which is tough, especially when students like me are going over full time, and I know that was my choice, however I'd rather be able to focus on my more important classes than doing all these frivolous assignments

It's not an easy A. You need to dedicate some time studying before the exams. But if you do it is really easy. A lot of info to intake Be sure to attend class because that can affect your grade a lot. I did not use my text book at all. She provides these slide shows and study guides that are very helpful. Shes a great instructor!

Ugh. Ridiculous amounts of work. Staggers due dates so you can't check in once a week and do your work in one sitting. Critical and assumes we're all music majors when in reality, most of us just need this for the fine arts credit. I was sort of interested in the subject matter; she turned it in to a nuisance class.

Leslie is one of the greatest teachers at CNM. She knows her material and she loves what she does! ALL TEACHERS should have a happy, postive, motatived attitude like Leslie's. Go to class, do the listening assignments go to the concerts and study for the test and you pass her class with an A or B!
