As far as online summer classes go, he does not make it easy. Way too much reading, and he doesn't give feedback unless you ask for it. Also the point system he uses with the online class at least made getting a low grade very easy.

Good teacher and really helps you understand the topics, but you're only graded on 6 essays done in pairs, 2 pages SINGLE spaced each and you get the prompts exactly 48 hours before they're due. Wouldn't be so bad but the prompts are vague and require re-reading the text, even if you go to every class, and the last two are assigned during finals.

Professor Brooks is a really good teacher, but I will warn you, read the syllabus, and follow by that throughout the whole course. DO NOT TURN IN YOUR WORK EVEN A MINUTE LATE, OR ELSE IT WONT EVEN BE GRADED. He is a very fair grader, but you HAVE TO READ. The work is time consuming, but it's very doable. Just do the work, and you'll be fine!

Great professor! Took the online class. There weren't any tests but a lot of homework! Two chapters/wk which isn't bad but he wants you to be very thorough in your responses. Start your homework as soon as possible, do not procrastinate or you will fall behind.

An amazing teacher. The lectures are fascinating, and he works so hard to make class enjoyable and educational. You can tell how much he prepared his lectures. Even though the class was over 2 hours I was never bored, and learned so much. The debates and conversations we had in class were so fun. Take his class!

I had completed all the exams and quizzes in the class with passing grades and ended up with him giving me a D as my final grade, I asked him and he didn't give a clear answer to it/ didn't respond to my emails, He doesn't post the grades online so it's pretty much guessing your grade. Didn't give good feedback on my papers etc etc

Be ready to read... There is an assignment a week, along with a chapter to read. There's also a "mid-term" essay, but all of these aren't things you can't do. Just be thorough and take the time to do it (it's very time consuming). Best part, NO TESTS! All together though, easy credit, you just have to put in the time. Highly recommend.

The class was super easy! A quiz every week for ten weeks. You have a week to do it. You could do them as soon as you get the syllabus. The papers were exhausting, but very do-able. You have a midterm paper, a book paper, and the final paper. He's hilarious and very cool, gave me great advice outside of class. Definitely recommend.

I took an accelerated course, so there were no tests/quizzes given. His syllabus is very precise and long, so please read thoroughly! This class should be an easy A if you put in the time to read and do all assigned homework.

I took this class online last semester and it was a piece of cake. The discussions really matter. And you have to do the assigned work that is due weekly. That's it.

Some believe that Prof. Brooks gives boring assignments, but it's obvious that he designs his assignments so that you actually have to read and cover the material to complete them. You cannot b.s. them or him. He is stern and the assignments are tedious, BUT they are easy. He tells you what he wants, and as long as you deliver, you will pass.

Amazing!! He relates to the kids he is teaching whether they want to be there or just want to pass the class. He obviously loves what he teaches and is openly available for outside help! It was a challenging class but he made it so enjoyable, and I usually hate history. I RECOMMEND HIM!!

Non-responsive and does not use the grading functionality within the virtual campus. The course work was not engaging. Read a chapter, write about it(outline, answer 2 question, or multi-choice questionnaire) and he sends you an email with points. No elaboration or explanation. Interested in history, take this class with another professor.
