At first I hated Liliana. I didn't do well on my first exam and I hated how specific she was when grading. Eventually I figured out how she worked and really the class became so much easier. She uses homework assignments for her exams so really you know what to expect. She's also super caring about your personal life and she's a great person overal

As a teacher for beginners classes she leaves a lot to be desired. She very poorly organizes her syllabus, she doesnt provide an online syllabus for her weekly updates. She cant help with connect, & requires a lot of connect busywork. Im a great student & considering the work, I shouldnt have a B in a 100 level class. I liked Spanish until this.

Participation is a huge part of your grade in this class as well as attendance. A lot of tests and assignments, but a lot of chances for extra credit. Liliana is a very strict professor, but once you get to know her she is very nice. Her accent is very thick which makes her very hard to understand. Work hard and participate in class!

Liliana as a person is great. She is nice. She still has a thick accent that can make it hard to understand her. She stresses studying a lot and in the end it really does help. You just really have to focus and pay attention. I'm taking her again for my required intermediate level spanish course.

I loved Liliana! She's so energetic and full of life. She made class a lot of fun. I didn't like the online homework, but whatever. I liked that our class sat in a circle to really practice our Spanish. I would really recommend taking a class with her because I loved it!

I loved having Liliana for class! She is so spirited and made class fun! I didn't like the online homework, but whatever. The class was super easy. We would all sit in a circle and have class, so it was a more close-knit class and really gave us the opportunity to practice speaking in Spanish. She is one of my favorite professors so far!

I took Literature 421 with Liliana and I do not like lit. However, she made it really easy for me to get good grades. She encourages participation because it is a lot of your grade. But, if you read the material, go to class and participate, there's like no way you can not pass.

Please, I am begging you not to take this class through her. She expects you to learn a foreign language through a book or on your own with no help. She was bad at explaining things clearly and did not help me at all. You are not allowed to use the bathroom during her class periods. I had to drop the course because I was scared to fail.

Liliana is a nice person but not a very good teacher at least in my opinion. The most basic spanish class was so difficult I had to withdrawl in order to not fail. I recommend taking any other professor but her. good luck.

WORST TEACHER at IUP. DO NOT TAKE. She favorites students. You need to speak 7 times each class which is impossible. She barely knows English. Her tests are hard. It's impossible to get a good grade. She doesnt care about your grade nor will she help you when you ask for it. AVOID taking her. You will not be able to pass.

She is the rudest teacher ever! She doesn't understand anything. She gives poor responses on written essays without logical explanation. She shows favoritism. You cannot understand her. We started out with a decent sized class now we are down to 4 people and she tells us to drop the class because she doesnt care shes RUDE and unprofessional!!!!

Reading previous comments, it seems that taking her for a spanish major class would be useful and entertaining, but she seems to have little to no regard for her 101-102 students. We are expected to teach ourselves, extra help is not given, she couldn't recommend a website or book to help me conjugate verbs. Terrible, avoid at all costs.

I'm actually surprised to see some of these comments because Liliana is one of the best, if not the best Spanish professor I've ever had. She is from Argentina and has a small accent, but is very easy to understand if you have a background in Spanish. This class is a LOT of fun. She'll help you & is really funny!

Awesome teacher! Highly recommend for conversational classes. Very knowledgable and explains difficult topics very well. Native speaker. Very fun and energetic. Two or three minutes late on occasion. Do the work, and you'll be fine.

Liliana is fullllll of energy. You will never go a day without a laugh. Sometimes it is difficult to understand her but she speaks slowly enough in spanish to comprehend for a 220 class. If you have fun with the class and do the work, you'll have a blast. Coursework can be difficult but if you work hard, youll be fine.

DO NOT TAKE HER! If she sees your cell phone, you get kicked out of class. Attendance is mandatory, she speaks broken English & her accent is very thick. Very difficult to understand. If you ask for help, she tells you to read the syllabus & the book. Als, if you have a medical illness, make sure you bring her an excuse with actual doctor signature

Unforgiving teacher. Wish I would have checked this site before hand. In one instance she wouldnt hand back our test from the week before until we took our mid-term. As a whole we the students explained to her that it would be helpfull if we could see our test so we dont make the same mistakes on ou mid-term and she just stated we should know it.
