You will not pass without reading the book. There is a ton of reading with no lectures. There are (3) 50 question exams timed at 50 mins. each, about 2 quizzes/week, 2 or 3 class discussions, and a three part essay. Sounds overwhelming, but once you get a rhythm going for the class it becomes easier. The entire class is basically on autopilot.

DON'T TAKE HER ONLINE CLASS There are 20 quizzes and a few assignments, which are fairly easy. But the 3 exams she gives are AWFUL. They're worth a big part of your grade and the questions aren't relevant to the material. I had to google most of the questions. I got A's on the quizzes/assignments, but C's on the exams. Clearly there's a problem.

McDill is a teacher who cares a lot about her students and subject, frequently mentioning examples from life and international events to provide examples of her points.

I didn't like her class at all! During her lectures she would just talk about her personal life and not about what we were supposed to be talking about. She has random pop quizzes, and will give you a fail if you don't print out all of the slides, just on your own doing! I AM GOING TO AVOID ALL OF HER CLASSES!

This class was very confusing and most of the things learned during lecture wouldn't even relate to the test. She's nice but often scatterbrained, seemed unprepared, and talks about her personal life and Middle Eastern conflict for most of the semester then tries to race through the courses actual information. Find a different teacher if you can!

Linda is not helpful, she lectures throughout the whole class about boring topics, and is even wrong many times (after fact checking notes). Her tests have nothing to do with her lectures. Could have simply read the book and never showed up to class and gotten A's on the tests.

Linda is the worst teacher I have ever had in my life. She is slow and not very certain about anything. Everything she does in class is pointless. She changes her mind a lot and is not very helpful. She is old, slow, and not very bright. Do NOT take this class.

WORST PROFESSOR I'VE HAD IN MY WHOLE COLLEGE EXPERIENCE! I warn you DO NOT TAKE HER. Doesn't lecture material just talks about her life and personal experiences and opinions. Asked her for help with something in the beginning of semester and she went off on me in front of the whole class, knowing I'm in the ACCESS program. AWFUL TEACHER!

Worst professor I've had in my 2 years at Moorpark. The School should be embarrassed to let her teach Sociology. While she is a nice person, much of her class centers around middle eastern conflict, which isn't relevant to the class at all. Even began to teach her own religious views in class. I warn you to avoid unless you have no other options.

She's a great lady but BAD teacher. She talks way too much about random stuff and will take two class sessions for one slide (NO JOKE). Test have nothing to do with lecture even if she says it is all based on all lecture. You won't learn much about th e subject.

WORST TEACHER I Have ever had at moorpark college! Extremely unprofessional, she is a lier, she got into an argument in front of the class, placed a student on the spot just because she wanted to make a point. Long lectures that WASTED every bodies time had nothing to do with the reading. Save your GPA. U have been warned DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!!

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE. I had no idea what was going on. Lots of homework quizzes that had nothing to do with the tests. The online format of the class itself was confusing. I had no idea what to study. Exams are tough. The only thing that saved me was the extra credit essay. I suggest finding a different professor or not taking the class.

THE WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD! She rambles about almost anything BUT sociology. don't expect to get a good grade, everything you learn in class and on her powerpoint aren't on the test. the last half of class she talks about issues in the middle east and tests you on it.. has nothing to do with sociology. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLASS!!

She is the worst teacher I have ever had. You learn nothing about sociology, she just rambles for two hours about her personal life and topics that dont matter or even relate to sociology. PLEASE, I BEG OF YOU, DO NOT CHOOSE THIS TEACHER SHE IS HORRIBLE.

Would not take a class from her, and i got almost a perfect grade in her class. She is a very passionate teacher with very strong views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which has nothing to do with the course, but is very informational. I would not take another class from her and most people did not get a good grade.

Professor McDill is a nice person, just not a very good teacher. She easily gets distracted and goes off from one tangent to the other. Her study guides and tests have very little connection, so you'd do better if you studied all of the material. She gives a decent amount of extra credit. All said, I wouldn't want to take her class again.

The tests have nothing to do with the lectures it's all random questions from the book. She also gives lectures on politics that is very offensive to some students. Her info is FALSE. There shouldnt be any talk of politics especially the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. She should keep her opinions to herself, this is not a history class.

Lectures are long and sometimes tedious but there's always a connection with the stories she tells to the thing we're learning. Textbook is needed for the first two tests, after that its useless. After the second test, she gets a bit preach-y about the Middle East, but it did clear some things up for me. Sweet woman who is always inclined to help.
