Comment:

Very knowledgable about the content and wants her students to do well! Tough grader on assignments, but only because she wants you to have a thorough understanding. Office hours are helpful and she encourages you to go! Class is not required, but very helpful to go. Tests are not too hard if you study. Extra credit for doing extra assignments.

Comment:

Hard grader on tests and article assignments and expects a lot from her students. That being said, she is extremely nice and funny. She wants her students to do well but definitely makes you work for a good grade in the class. Office hours were definitely a big help!

Henkel's class was very interesting and fun, lectures are not mandatory but I would recommend going. They go by fast and are very helpful. 4 mandatory homeworks, 2 optional but are extra credit. The homeworks are long (DO NOT WAIT UNTIL LAST MINUTE) but nothing you can't handle. I really loved this class and highly recommend it.

Dr. Henkel is literally awesome. As long as you pay attention in class then you are set. The concepts are super interesting and she's all around a great person. I've had her 2 times now and could not be happier. By far the best psych teacher in the department.

Is not clear on test material. You study one thing and then something else is on the test. She is a happy soul and pretty entertaining but really needs to improve on how to prepare students for tests. Im usually good with psychology material and I didn't do too well on tests

This class was very interesting! Although attendance was not mandatory, it really helps to show up everyday. Her homeworks are long but they are very helpful when it comes to her exams. She does NOT play favorites, but she will remember the names of the people who participate in class. Her exams are not too hard, but studying is a must!

Professor Henkel is smart, approachable, and interesting... That being said, she picks favorites like no other. This leads to an unfair system of grading, it is insane how blatantly obvious her favoritism extended. Get on her good side and you will do well, regardless of intelligence. Would not recommend.

Had her for cognitive. She plays favorites and gives an immense amount of busy work. If she likes you--by no means guaranteed--she'll grade your work much easier. Hates giving A's, so work of disparate quality receives the same B+. Not as cool as she comes off.

Wonderful teacher and person. Extremely helpful and cares about her students. She is very approachable and will gladly explain something that you do not understand. She is a very nice and intelligent woman. Research methods is a required course--lots of work--but worth it. In the end you come out knowing alot.

I took Research Methods with her. She was a good teacher and fair grader. Only complaint is I was having surgery right before the 1st test and she wouldn't arrange to let me take it later. She allows you to drop one test at the end, so I had to drop the one I missed.

I had her for stats and research methods, she is a great teacher. Makes you learn a lot more than others, but her classes require a lot of work-it never stops. If you go and talk to her she is so helpful and wants you to really understand the material. The tests are not hard, as long as you study and know the stuff.

I had her for cognitive - got an A- but I would not wish this class with her on anyone. I heard she is good for stats. lots of work - basically just have to repeat her beliefs back to her and you're fine. it's a lot more work than gardner and a some of her homework assignments had busy work elements
