Comment:

She is nice woman and she is clearly intelligent, but I feel like she has a fear of public speaking. the readings are very interesting. If attendance wasn't a big part of the grade no one would go to class. None of the lecture material is tested on, only the readings. Overall I learned a lot but would have preferred a more enthusiastic professor.

She is an extremely helpful prof. She wants everyone to do their best. A fair marker. The only thing I'd change is the fact that the class is based 100% on the readings. I didn't go to class very often and got a 90 on the midterm.

I do not really like her teaching style. She is very, very dull, and reads her lecture notes word-for-word, often losing her place. The course was not at all difficult; she seems like a nice person and is a fair marker, but it could have been so much more interesting. (history of sexualities / fall 07)

I thought she was an alright prof, a little boring at times but you can deal with it. She did flip the hair a lot, but she was ok. It was an easy class as long as you can keep focused.

SNORE. Monotone. Reads straight from her notes/textbook readings. If you can keep your eyes opened, you'll find that she's very knowledgable, just not good at educating. Read the text and you should do fine.

Ok don't take this prof. you learn nothing from her class and she is so monotone ppl are always sleeping in her class. Her hair thing is soo annoying. Don't take a class with her. She marks things wrong on your paper because she doesn't agree but it's in the research

I called her the hair flipper! One class i was so distracted that i counted how many times she flipped her hair. the total was 17! 17 times in 45 mins! She does seem like a nice person but not the grestest prof.

Just because she is "smart in the subject-conducted interesting research" does not make her a good educator. Interest in her own teachings and caring about the students does. Get your priorities straight.

Wow, the only prof that I will go through lengths to avoid ever having her again. Her lack of interest in her students, boring lectures, and constant twitches, make her more then distracting.

I agree with many of the comments given with regards to monotone. If, however, effort is given to actually follow along with one of her lectures you would find she's really not so bad. I also found her very approachable on a one to one basis. She's shy.
