Love Dr. Yang. He's an amazing professor who's very passionate about his teaching and caring for his students. I agree that his English can be a bit hard to follow from time to time; however, his feedback and accessibility after class totally made up for it. World class aDNA analyst who's extremely respectful to his fellow students. Two thumbs up!

Passionate about his work. His English is a bit hard to follow when he was trying to explain biological terms. However, he cares about his students and always willing to take extra time answering questions and concerns. I would take him again!

Very difficult to understand and not very clear in direction. He is very passionate and excited about what he teaches, unfortunately this doesn't make up for the misunderstandings and miscommunications. Go to him if you have questions he is always willing to help and truly cares about his students.

Comment:

Very helpful professor during lectures and labs. Tries to make his lectures fun and jokes around. Personally find his class very engaging, and he seems to be a fair marker. Definitely encourage taking his classes as long as you take the time to attend labs and seeking help from TA.

Great class--definitely recommend to others. Cons: no textbook (MUST attend class to understand the info); group project worth 60% of grade. BUT great material, ability to work on original research, rather easy midterm (40% of grade), and prof is v. approachable, helpful, and understanding.

Dongya is a really nice guy, and he will try and help you as best he can, However he is really difficult to understand and I found i had a hard time getting information out of his lectures. He does compensate fairly well with his lecture notes and they are all available online

I LOVE DONGYA! he's honestly the nicest proff i've ever had. He really cares about his students and wants them to succeed, he will always help you when you need it. He's so easygoing, and has such a great happy disposition. He is enthusiastic about the subject, and he works hard to make sure you understand the subject. Love the guy!

Dongya's classes have inspired me and pointed me into my area of focus. He has a great sense of humor if you catch it. He is definately one of my favorite profs that I have had during my undergrad.

So nice and funny. His lectures are fun and he is very enthusiastic. He is sometimes hard to understand but he knows it and does his best to be clear. Powerpoint lectures are available online which helps a lot.
