If you have ever took an exciting course with Dr. Melissa Baker, this is not a class you want to take. The classes are dried and boring. The PowerPoint are super boring. I was thinking this class could be fun. The instructor doesn't make any efforts to change her style to more trendy and exciting class. The exams are with a bubble sheets, obsolete

Comment:

Linda is a very nice person, but seems a little clueless in the hospitality industry. The only policy that we talk about is dress codes for restaurants or places where food trucks can be in Amherst. If you want a unclear class that is relatively easy, take this one.

Comment:

Linda is a grad school professor, so her only undergraduate class is quite obviously taught in an unconventional way. Her powerpoints are not helpful at all, and the textbook is random. Her tests are always curved, and there are small weekly assignments that are so easy and grade boosters. Final project almost everyone gets 100.

I had her for an online class and EVERYTHING was directly out of the textbook. She took her sweet time grading assignments, too; I had turned in 3 of 4 assignments before the first grades came out. Extremely frustrating and not helpful at all.

Extremely boring class, but very nice lady. Class never lasted the entire time. Curved all exams and they are pretty fair. Know the notes and some questions from the textbook. Some group activities, and she takes attendance.

It is definitely true that she's boring but she is the sweetest teacher ever, and she has such a passion for what she is teaching and it really shows. There are no exams! I really like her and recommend taking her class.

Had her online and she was awful. She never checked email, and took everything right from the book. Our first exam was 20 multiple choice questions directly from her ppt slides and we had two hours to complete it! SOOOOO easy but to the point of being worthless.
