I took her for history of modern racism. I really enjoyed this class. She is passionate about the subject and I learned so much about American history that I never knew. There are 7 short essays throughout the semester and participation is 30% of your grade. She was funny and encouraged thought provoking discussion. I loved the class.

You have 40 assignments and 5 3 page papers. She is a pretty easy grader. YOU HAVE TO PARTICIPATE AND RAISE YOUR HAND. I raised my hand about 3 times in the semester but listened and showed up to every class and got a D for the participation grade which is out of 100 points. You need the book for sure. The SI is very helpful for writing the papers.

I have taken more than one class with Dr. Anderson. I find her to be more than fair. She seems to prefer open discussion and dialogue about the topic at hand. In that regard it is more like a seminar class with writing attached. The nice thing is that you do not need to go out and research external sources. The papers are not terribly difficult.

This is a very easy class. Do the reading and that is all. Quizes are extremely easy. She assigns a few papers throughought the semester but theyre very easy and not a lot of work. Lecture hours are long but she usually ends class early. Everyone must be getting As.

I found Dr. Anderson to be quite interesting. If you want to learn, you have to do the reading and show up. You will leave the class knowing far more than when you entered it. Grading for homework was better than fair. Grading for Papers was also better than fair. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you skip you will not understand the material.

Very good teacher, she seems interested in what she does. Good at explaining. Very laid back. She grades on attendance although not very harshly. Quiz due before each class is annoying, and paper assignments are vague and very difficult. Easy grader, though. Recommend, although you'll have to put in the work for a good grade.

Dr. J. Anderson is a great instructor. She encourages participation from her class in the daily discussions. LOTS of reading (many books & articles) & a paper due every class period. Attendance isn't mandatory but she's well aware of who shows up & who doesn't. Plus, you have a certain number of papers to turn in so I would suggest going to class!

Dr. Anderson was a great teacher. I had her for my online philosophy of bioethics course. Never had a problem getting in touch with her for help. There was a lot of reading and you can't slack off if you want an A. But the topics we learned about were very interesting and thought-provoking.

Jami was an excellent teacher. Beginnning of class she let us know that she wasn't trying to force her views or anyone else's on us & that was an accurate statement. Attendance wasn't manditory, but I got most of my answers for the papers from lectures/class discussion. Go to class! 12 easy online discussions, throw out 2, 7, two page papers -EASY!

Had Dr. Anderson for Spring '11 semester. I enjoyed the class a lot; very interesting. Workload wasn't easy but not unbearable either. Attendance isn't required but I would recommend going; class discussion is really helpful when completing assignments/papers. She was very clear and made herself available to students. Would take again!

Very liberal and has negative views towards our society. 6-7 papers(1 each week)on topics with no right or wrong answer but, if you don't agree with her your wrong??? do not recommend her for anything! very harsh on grading esp for a 100 level course.

Very good professor. Have one or two articles to read for each class which are discussed at length. Quiz every Saturday online, 10 questions covering the reading for the week. She gives you three attempts at the quiz and your highest score counts. Two 5-6 page papers are required that are to show that you read the material and understood it.

Not a recommended prof. for this class. 6 page papers on topics, if you don't agree with her, don't plan to get a good grade. One online test every week, 6 page papers every 2 weeks, out of 100 points. Grades HARSHLY. NOT RECOMMENDED!

It was a seven week Spring class so the pace was fast. There was a lot of reading and homework assignments in a 7 day period. You also had to answer online discussion questions and post replies to other students' answers. Busy people should take 103 during Fall or Winter semester.

I did not like this teacher at all, she is very hard and treats her students like they are stupid. I would NEVER take her again. Watch out for tons of homework, I don't know how she thinks you can get all of it done in a short amount of time that is allowed.

I was very interested in taking this class however, prof rushed through material and when asked to explain concepts in different ways, she could not. Felt like it was a bother for the prof to teach course. Usually a str8 A student and could not comprehend the way she taught. Stay away from this class!

one of the best teachers i have ever had. I loved the discussions. very smart and open minded teacher, so if you are close minded person and have prejudice against people of different race and gender then you might not like her but she opens up your mind to so many new things. i loved her so much that i am taking her again.

Very laid back and fair grader. Exams are open notes. Class is structured around teacher/student discussions. I.E. "What do you think this means???" A very different type of professor compared to others.
