If you are looking for an easy A, this isn't the class to take. She is a very difficult teacher, but if you show her you are working hard she will give a few extra pointers outside of class. She is very specific to tell the class what she wants. Almost impossible to get an A, but you will learn to write well.

I recommend this class, but be prepared to take it seriously. Experienced writers will find her lectures tedious, but her comments and feedback extraordinarily helpful. Her grading method is unorthodox but fair. Regardless of what skill level you come in at, if you want an A you'll have to work hard to earn it.

Very high expectations. She doesn't assign grades on individual papers and "magically" comes up with one for midterm and final. She's unfair, stressed importance of attendance yet gave a high grade (compared to the rest of the class) to a girl who never showed up didn't fully complete assignments. Hypocrite.

A lot of work, and very high expectations. Don't slack; she can tell when you actually try to do good on a paper and it pays off. Lectures were boring, pretty much just discussions about our opinions that had no relevance to our work.

AMAZING! she is currently my favorite professor. You will learn so much about writing from her and she is always willing to help a student. She does have higher expectations, but with how much you learn, its really not a problem. There are not even any tests, midterms, or final papers. your writing skills will only improve because of her

I can honestly say I've never liked a professor less in my life. She's not only a horrible person, but a horrible teacher too. Even going to her for help during office hours is useless, because she's, well, useless. She only loves English major, so if you aren't one, expect a low grade. Standards are WAY too high. Avoid her like the plague.

She taught me more about writing than I have ever known. Throughout the semester you will always feel like your best isn't good enough. You will not know how you are doing in that class until you receive your grades in the mail. Expect to write a short paper every week, but the readings are short.
