DONT TAKE! SHE TEACHES YOU NOTHING. Literally all we did was have boring class discussions EVERY day, then assigned 3 pg journal which WASNT EVEN COLLECTED UNTIL LAST DAY and for my class she forgot to give them back so still dont have any grades for this class.This is a major problem. Overall not worth taking her class, so many better teachers.

If you want to go there and just do group convos all semester go ahead. We never learned anything about writing, which doesn't help for when you have to go into WSC2. You never know how you are doing because she doesn't grade anything, and then she just gives everyone an A- or lower. Don't take her if you want to learn something or want an A.

Sweet lady, she doesnt teach a SINGLE writing lesson so your skills won't improve. Only work assigned is 3 pg journal every class which is on silly topics and she doesn't grade them until end so you wont know how you did-very frustrating. Didnt do well, tough to say if I'd take her again especially bc she had no grades to validate her reasoning.

She's a nice (kinda weird) lady and it's a pretty easy class. All you do is talk about life the whole time, and then get assigned a 3 page "journal" paper or whatever. I didn't even do all the journals and still got an A-. The thing is, if you're looking to get help with your writing, don't take her. She never gave us a single writing lesson.

Very nice and understanding professor. Always kept everyone on track and was very liberal with class conduct. Allowed for people to sleep, as long as they got their work done and did not disrupt the class. Definitely take her, especially for WSC002- her topic: Woodstock was very easy and enjoyable and she shows a lot of enthusiasm and knowledge.

Just an Awesome teacher. so helpful, so wonderful, complains a lot but its always funny. i never liked english and writing so much but she completely changed that. I love her and recommend her to everyone.

Amazing woman. Fun, but interesting and relevant class. Love going to this class twice a week. She makes you really think about what you are writing, and relates topics to you and your life. Kindest woman. Relevant, perfect style of teaching. Couldn't have asked for a better professor! :)

this is one of the most friendliest teachers teaching at Hofstra. She is a doll, and loves everyone. the one thing i hated was the journal we had to write everyday, but she never collected them til the end of the semester, so that wasnt too bad. her essays are easy as cake, and she lets you eat! TAKE HER! YOU WONT REGRET IT!

Professor Parkoff is like a mother to me after having her first semester--the woman is so freaking nice. I was considering transferring, but she is one of the reasons I am staying (and taking her class again this next semester). She is so laid back and really one of the most caring people you will ever meet. DEFINITELY take her!

She's really sweet. She's also really easy; she gave the entire class an A on the first assignment. However, she only vaguely addresses the course material and instead rambles about her life, mostly. she is an awesome professor!!! she is sooo sweet really helps you learn and there arent any tests or anything just 3 easy papers and lots of movies (good movies, like when harry met sally) yes she may go off onto random topics oh too often but it never gets boring. take this professor you wont regret it!
