She gives you no guidance as to what will be on the tests; she rambles. My friends and I were each graded down on tests for different reasons; she doesn't grade systematically. I got sick & had proper documentation from the Dean, so she was forced to deffer my final. She made it harder than the orignal exam and warned me that she would do so.

She's a really nice lady with a lot of experience and a lot of intelligent things to say, but the course seemed unplanned and no one really knew what was going on...at any point. It didn't really go over the stuff that I thought it was going to, it was more about architecture than sacred spaces and cult practice, and didn't improve writing at all.

I took her seminar, so there was not a lot of written work, and class discussions were very interesting. Not only did I learn a lot, but it was also pretty fun, and I came out loving ancient architecture.

NEVER TAKE THIS CLASS! DO NOT believe the good reviews. it was boring, test questions were based on the most minor things (the coliseum was never even on a test!) and grading is really picky. i asked her for guidance and she told me i should have recieved a worse grade on my test when she looked over it again. i wasted a ton of time on this class.

this was an okay class. after taking art history last semester, i was shocked at how easy the tests were...one night of studying on the first one got me a b on it. she breaks up the lectures with movie clips and such, so it never gets too boring. not a bad class, take it for the GERs.
