My experience was terrible. She is very unorganized and gives you lots of reading and homework. Most of the class she sat around talking about her previous experiences. Only take this class if you have a lot of free time and have a deep love for marine life.

I would not recommend this professor for anyone who does not have an extensive amount of free time. After each class she will assign about 4+ hours of reading notes and for Marine Bio she will assign like 35 coloring plates at one time to be done by the next class. Exams are very difficult and never puts anything you actually learn on the exams.

You will learn nothing from this course beyond what you can read for yourself in the textbook which she essentially makes you copy. Seems to brag about her career a lot, but has no refereed publications I can locate. Very little actual instruction. Mostly drifts off and starts telling unrelated personal stories.

Too much reading. Youll spend at least 5-6 hours a week doing her reading notes. She tests on EVERYHING. You have to follow her specific directions if you want to pass. She does not allow people to get up and walk around for ANY reason. Not even to use the bathroom. Also, she makes you put away all electronics. Cant be used during her class time.

I took Dr. Tyson's Conservation and Sustainability course. At first I didn't like her, but learned to love her class. You will be reading a lot and watching a lot of videos. Do the homework and take good notes and you'll pass. She is passionate about what she talks about, listen to what she says.

I would not recommend taking this class unless you have a lot of free time. Theres about 4+ hours of reading notes and coloring plates between classes which are very difficult. Tests are extremely difficult because she barely covers any of the material in class. Professor Tyson is extremely disorganized and tough to reach. Steer clear of this class

I took Dr. Tyson for BSC2826. Dr. Tyson is a phenomenal educator and knows how to make you learn. You will have a lot of reading to do, but reading is VERY important. As long as you read and take the notes you WILL get an A. Humans MUST change the ways we damage our Earth and it is IMPERATIVE to understand the science behind our ignorance .

An interesting professor, but an unnecessary amount of coursework that will keep you up late into the night. Would not recommend.

This lady has a method and if you want to pass DO AS SHE SAYS. Forget what youve been doing and just corporate with what she ask and youll do fine. I took her for a 6 week course for Enviornmental Science and she made us buy the book and their was HW every night. Best advice: it has to get done so just do it.

She is extremely unorganized and will try to make you feel stupid for not being able to answer some of her questions. She'll spend all of the time in classes bragging about all the things she's done, she very self absorbed. I spent so many late nights trying to get all the work done for that class, and then the next day, she didn't even check it.

I had professor Tyson for a Global Change and Ecology Sustainability class in the spring. She expects a lot of you and assigns a lot of work but the books that she has you read are actually quite interesting and I learned a lot in her class. Though I did like her, she was a bit disorganized and doesn't use canvas or hand back papers regularly.

Professor Tyson was very understanding and helpful in my academic situation. She allowed me to get an extension due to having the flu! Her class is very interesting and if you complete the reading notes, videos, and study, youll do great in this course!

I wouldn't bother taking any classes with her, you won't learn much about the material despite all of the note taking work that is constantly shoved down your throat. She will most likely just get lost in talking about herself anyway.

I wouldn't recommend this teacher for ANY class. She is extremely condescending and will attempt to belittle you and make you feel small, but I assume it's just her way to compensate for her own lacking intelligence. The work is nothing but dull and busy work meant to scare the imagination out of you. Science is fun, just take it with someone else

Would not recommend a non-science major student to take this class. You really need to read about science each day, know about the latest news about environment, dedicate 10-15 hours per week to it, etc. She makes you take notes of the ENTIRE book in a VERY specific way (2-5 hrs. resuming each chapter/ 2-5 ch. per week). Dreadful!

I had Professor Tyson for her Biology in Human Values course. She was the worst professor i have ever had. She is caught up in herself and all of her achievements and will hardly talk about anything really useful. If you like to read and just listen to someone then this class is ok, but beware this will be one of the hardest classes you will take.

WORST TEACHER EVER, DO NOT TAKE! The homework that u will do for hours can be up to 25+ pages of notes tha she will just give u a checkmark and add you points to a test that, without them, you will fail! (so your knowledge and actual grade is ALL FAKE) and TESTS ARE SO MESSY AND IMPOSSIBLE! The final is 200 points out of 530 which is insane... RUN!

Honestly, I didn't like her at first. But she is actually a great teacher, you can tell that she genuinely wants you to learn from her. You'll have to read and really study the material, but you shouldn't expect anything less out of a college course. She inspired me to think about things in different ways, and she's quite funny in lectures.
