Worst teacher I took at Davis. She made little to no sense in class and then essentially scolded students for daring to ask questions in an attempt to undo the confusion.

I took a seminar class with Dr. Chau. She was enthusiastic about her subject matter and quite supportive of everyone in the class with a difficult subject matter. I had no tests in her class, so I can't judge on that, but in seminar, she was phenomenally helpful, easy and supportive.

She is very enthusiastic and really enjoys her subjct. She has a great time teaching and is amusing. However, her lectures do not correlate with the tests or the homework. She also does not lecture so much as throw equations at you. Very poor lecturer.

This is the best professor and class (104a) that I've taken at UC Davis... really made up for the poor quality of the math department... I HIGHLY recommend this class (but only with this professor) if you want to understand this stuff.
