Professor Washington is very knowledgeable about the field of Journalism and often shares some of the work he's done in the past, which is interesting to hear. Most classes are lecture based. We talk about current events most of the time and students are graded on a handful of writing assignments and a midterm. There's no final!

Professor Washington is has been in the field of journalism and is passionate about it, so it's interesting hearing what he knows. However, he doesn't tell you when assignments are due so you need to rely on the syllabus and most assignments take about a week to complete and require you to step off campus.

Prof. Washington cares about his students and is very approachable. Lecture is very long and can get boring. I wish the spent more time reviewing criteria for the upcoming assignments. Some requirements were unclear. I'd say he's a fairly easy grader. About 8 article HW assignments, 1 exam (midterm), final exam is to write a feature article.

If you have a choice for MURL, you NEED to take Washington. He is the only competent professor for the capstone and the only one that give's a d*mn about the students. He is excited and very straightforward when talking and he will often jump at the chance to come to your aid! If you've struggled before, he is the prefer teacher to have.

I love him! He is so smart and dedicated, this guy would seriously answer his phone for you at 3 in the morning. I don't think anyone at Temple does it better. If you are having a hard time, go talk to him, he has ideas and insight that will blow your mind. I almost wish I hadn't passed the class so I could have him again :)

Great professor. Ran the Philly Tribune in the 80s and has extensive knowledge and experience in field. Public Affairs class is tough. Lots of assignments, but is lax on deadlines. Big Abu-Jamal supporter and left-winger, but doesn't force opinion on you. If you show up and do work, you'll learn a lot b/c he has a lot to pass on.

Probably spread a little thin between all his interests and duties. I felt like I had to BEG him for feedback. Does a lot of browbeating, I am as liberal as it gets but his imposition of views- even shared ones- was a *bit* much. He is an intelligent/experienced cat, doesnt really bust you on deadlines either. He is OK, wouldnt recommend highly
