This class is great if you want a more hands on experience with the brain. There are opportunities to dissect brains and work with rats for experiments. A LOT of papers, but you have to apply to be in the class so thatll be assessed by Dr. Baker. Not a big class so a good opportunity to make close friendships also. Loved this class and professor.

Dr. Baker is an awesome professor!! This class is very interesting if like neuroscience. Grades on participation and attendance. Online quizzes, but theyre very easy and a good way to get points. 4 tests (multiple choice, matching & essay) and a remedial final. If you study the quizzes and reviews she gives youll do fine. Shes an angel.

She is the most unorganized professor I've ever had. Can't keep track of the days she says things (tests, papers, etc) are due. Doesn't bother to figure out how to do the electronic things for this summer course before they're starting (out tests were online) and is constantly at least 10 minutes late, then we never finish the chapter in class.

She is obviously very intelligent and knows loads about the material. Go to class! She expands on the material in the book (which you should definitely read) and gives examples and really interesting stories. Tests are mostly written, her study objectives are incredibly useful, just focus on them. Lab was fascinating, a lot of work, but worth it!

had to retake the class (failed the first time, left the university without withdrawing). the second time around, i learned so much more. once you understand her teaching style, its pretty easy. KNOW HER STUDY OBJECTIVES! and not just short answer, since test questions are often expansions on those objectives.

Expect to spend more than the minimum 10 hrs. per week for this practicum. This class is HIGHLY writing intensive with numerous APA reports due throughout the semester. I wouldn't recommend taking this class with an already full load.

She is a hard professor and you have to be on top of your game for this class. She tells you what to study and what to read, but most people think that they can get away with not doing the workload. READ THE CHAPTERS!!!

Dr. Baker is helpful, incredibly brilliant and really knows what she is talking about. She made this course interesting and she is ultimately the reason I went on to pursue a PhD in Psychopharmacology! I highly recommend taking any courses you can from her, you will learn tons!

A required class that was supposed to be interesting and fun. Unfortunately Baker managed to squelch all the fun out of it with pointless writings and stupendously complicated exams. Clearly she is brilliant but the lectures tend to focus on the trivial and manage to miss the point of making the history of psychology a real bore.

I took this class a while ago. I have mixed feelings about it. I got a good grade, and it was one of the most informative courses that I took during my career at the university. However, she was quirky and overly dismissive of non-behavorial paradigms.
