Comment:

Knych is a really good professor that really cares about her students. Very writing heavy class, and a good amount of homework but i would definitely recommend her. I really enjoyed her class and it wasn't too hard.

Comment:

Knych is a very difficult grader and looks for a specific style of writing, although she is not a writing professor. Do not expect to use the bathroom during her class or you may not be allowed back in. If you are taking this before 10 am beware that she has a strict no eating or drinking policy. Unclear grading criteria.

Lisa is so great! Shes really experienced and throws lots of stories in to her lectures so theyre not so boring. She really taught me a lot. If you dont like writing, dont take her. There is always writing and/or reading assignments and tests are all essays. My hand still hurts from the final

Definitely one of the best professors at Whitman. The course material can be difficult, but she explains everything thoroughly and tells lots of interesting stories that connect to the material. She is really sweet and genuinely cares about her students. I would definitely recommend!

I honestly love her. She challenges you, but if you really want to learn, that's ideal. If writing isn't your strength, you might hate this class. Tests are essays only, but you get a "cheat sheet" you get to make. The material is boring but she tells a lot of interesting stories and I think it helps that she's a lawyer. I would recommend.

She's extremely nice, but the class LAGS. A lot of people fell asleep. Material was very dry at times. She does require attendance. Make sure you meet with her prior to exams to know exactly how to do well on the work. All the exams are written and open note, however she has very specific standards for what gets an A and what doesn't.

Professor Knych is great. She tells you what will be on the tests. You must go to lecture, and do the assignments she gives you before each class. Students can be called on at random for their answers. Tests are open notes. Listen during class, do the assignments, and take good notes and you should get a good grade.
