Great Professor. She cares about her students, always answers questions, and gives an extra credit opportunity. All the assignments have written out guidelines and explained. If you follow the guidelines, you will receive an A. Watch many clips to analyze and have powerpoint lectures, in which she emails you. Textbook not needed.

She was very easy teacher, but didn't teach too much. 3 essays entire class and all resumer easy. She's a pretty easy grader. Lectures are kinda boring, but they only last about 15 minutes.

Comment:

SUPER easygoing & nice. Each day she just lectures & has an activity planned (like analyzing articles or tv episodes) which are helpful for your essays. This class doesnt have a huge workload & you get out early most days! The only big things in the class really were the 3 essays & the midterm, which you don't even have to read the book to pass.

Comment:

She is the best English teacher! I had her for 1B and there is only one test and it is extremely straight forward. She sends you all the power points from the class lectures and let's you pick your own groups for in class activities. There are quite a bit of papers, but they are not hard. She does take role, but who cares, you'll get an A easily.

I though English 1B would be really difficult with a lot of writing but she let us choose what we wanted to write our papers on. We never had homework unless we had a paper due and there weren't that many. There was one big paper at the end but we got to write about something that interested us so it wasn't bad. She was a great professor!

The best eng. prof. on campus. She can teach you a main concept by adding little concepts at a time. By the end of the semester, you've already become a better writer. You don't even know you're learning, but you are - and so much! Midterm was easy and the final is an 8+ pg research paper (MLA 8). She offers extra credit and extra help, plus emails

Prof Turnbull is by far the best professor I have had at my time in Saddleback. She takes a tough class like English 1B and makes it stress free. You will learn lots of things, but it will still be a breeze because she makes the subject so nice and easy going. Definitely would recommend

Really nice lady! She takes role, but doesn't care if you skip a few classes. Most classes consist of reviewing a movie/tv show or listening to her read off of a powerpoint. Emails you the ppts after each lecture, so it's easy to catch up if you miss class. Assignments are easy and essays are on whatever you want to write on. Take her for an easy A

Get ready to listen to a teacher who tries to connect to the whole class through SouthPark, the Simpsons, and pop culture in general. This class is the easiest A on the planet. She speaks like a valley girl, but the class usually only lasts 40 minutes so it's tolerable (barely) but if you're looking to learn something choose another teacher.

5 Essays, a few quizzes on readings, & responds to all emails. You get 1 free late pass for essays and you can rewrite 1 essay for full credit. Easy, easy class - just put effort into your essays and you'll do great! She's an amazing professor; she cares for her students and wants them to succeed. I'm taking her again for Eng 1B.

Turnbull has to be my favorite English teacher of all time! She is super sweet and keeps lectures from being dreadfully boring so that you actually learn something. 1B is a writing-heavy class, but she gives you lots of freedom for paper topics and gives good feedback. Would highly recommend if you can get her class(it probably fills quickly).

Professor Turnbull was truly a delight! She is very peppy and kind and very helpful and will stay after class so you can ask questions. Her syllabus is clear cut, know it and you will do just fine. Not much work involved, she chooses fun essay topics and gives kind feedback and grades easily. Honestly, just a really delightful class. Take it.

Really easy. Essays are actually fun to write. Interesting topics. No tests. Cares about your grades. There's a book project she gives out and you have whole semester to do. Super easy. One presentation. Also really easy. You cannot fail this class.

If you enjoy writing, this class will be easy, since there are really no tests. Prof. Turnbull gets straight to the point of assignments, and all of the in-class work is relevant to the essays. She is always available for questions, and if you are doing a good job, she will let you know. Great class, I highly recommend.

You should definitely take english with her if you can! She's easy to get along with & makes class really easy: grades essays easily. repeats herself a lot. 6 essays. one nonfiction book of your choice. a couple quizzes. extra credit. Oh and she cancels class a lot and let's everyone out early most days(: highly recommend if you want an easy A!
