I cant recommend Helmick enough. Compared to my high school Statistics he blew that out of the water. He is super super understanding and will bend over backwards for you if you just ask! Hungover and dont want to take the test just yet? Just ask and you can take it later. Hes super chill, open note too!

A very nice teacher who wants his students to pass the class. Yes at times the class can be boring but its math! He does plenty of reviews and can be flexible with the grading on test offering points for attempted problems. Overall I would take this teacher again

Really Sweet Professor. Attendance is mandatory the first couple weeks for "You Try it" points. He gives partial credit for his tests and his practice tests are very similar to the real ones. Get the textbook answer booklet from bookstore and it has every problem worked out. I copied my homework from it. You have to teach yourself in this class

Overall, he is a very nice teacher and if you ask him questions he will try and help you. Also, a very easy grader. Gives you points for trying. Lots of hw. On the down side he doesn't explain very well. If you have taken a like class then this will be easy, if not then you might struggle. Also, class is pretty boring.

he's really nice, but whats important is his class not him, and his class is plain BORING. If you have no choice but to take him, then just make sure to teach yourself the material because he has his own methods apart from the textbook & makes things even more confusing. he gives partial credit for wrong answers in test, but class lectures useless

If you have to take stats and his class is available I'd highly recommend him. My friend and I failed another stats class at Saddleback and now have some of the highest grades in his class. Lectures are pointless but he gives you five points at the end of each day for quizzes, all you need to do is study is study guides and you'll get A's.

Mr. Helmick is a really nice teacher and he's the easiest grader ever! He will give you credit on problems that you did not get right on tests as long as you try. He may not be the most exciting math teacher, but really who is? I would take him again. I got an A:)

He is a nice guy not very helpful though. Lectures are boring so don't take him on only one day, spread it out! Do the hw and study for the tests by yourself instead of going to the first part of the class because they are boring and useless. Come to the class after the break to take quizzes.

Such a nice man. I had not taken a math course in about 10 years prior to this class. Professor Helmick made the transisition back into math very easy for me. He is very kind and approachable. He updates your progress frequently throughout the semester and will answer any and all questions. There are no surprises with his tests.

really a nice guy! cares about his students, tries to learn all their names-you can tell he cares. the first part of class we go over any questions-then break- EVERYONE leaves at break, but those who want to learn more stay. he doesn't seem to care, but theres a really easy short quiz after break. easy class if you attend and try! nice man

he isnt the best at explaining the concepts, but he's helpful and very nice. for each test you have, you get a study guide that is almost identical to the test. you spend a period going over the review before each test.many times the book is allowed for tests as well. not strict on attendence. hw accepted late. he's great! =)
