She only does lectures; you get quizzes around every 2 weeks and have a midterm & final. the quizzes & tests seem to be more based on the book even though she gives good lectures (need to listen). To be honest this class was hard for me, I can't believe I got a B. But she is really nice and I'm glad to have been part of her class.

VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH HER WORK PERFORMANCE. ABSENT 3 DAYS (DIDN'T GET TO THE LAST CHAPTERS BECAUSE TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE SEMESTER ENDED SHE REALIZED SHE "MESSED UP"), LOST TWO OF MY ESSAYS, VERY UNORGANIZED, NEVER PREPARED & ALWAYS LATE. MISCALCULATED MY FINAL SCORE. CARELESS, ALWAYS WENT HOME EARLY. DONT RECOMMEND! WASTE OF MONEY.

She's a complete sweetheart absolutely. Such a lovely intelligent woman! She does talk straight for lectures and kinda talks about things not on exam. However she gives out study guides and if you know what's on that you will pass her exams! She gave a research paper and creative writing paper of loyalists and patriots. Study and you can get an A

Really funny and laid back. She says you need to read, but if you pay attention you can pass quizzes. Does not use powerpoint, only lecture. TAKE GOOD NOTES AND STUDY FROM THEM! I'm taking her HIST 112 class because I liked her so much. Assigns 3 really easy papers, many short little quizzes, 3 "major" tests, participation is super important to her

The class is just midterm and final that's it. She had a term paper and extra credit. She is kinda a boring lecturer so I didn't do well on the midterm. However, for final she gave a study guide and it was verbatim on the final. I used flash cards. Term paper helped to! Read the book, her lectures have nothing to do with the exams so just read

She's a boring lecturer, I will admit that. The class felt like she dragged it many times and I had a hard time listening to her. However, I just read the text and made flash cards from her study guides. Needless to say I ended up with a B. There is only midterm/final and a paper so do well on first test and last and you'll get an A.

Brassfield is a very kind elder woman; however she is very forgetful of quizzes and will hardly ever go by the syllabus that she hands out (she remakes the syllabus about 3 times). She does not teach with powerpoint nor with writing on the board. She literally gets to class, drags her podium and talks straight. READ the book and you will pass!

Very nice woman, grade weighs heavily on mid term and final. Reflection papers are easy if you put some thought into them. Around 6 quizzes during her spring semester and a midterm and a final.

This class was tough when I took it and there literally was only midterm/final. She gave out little assignments here and there, but the lectures were boring and so was the class. The first exam i did poorly so I worked hard on research paper and studied for final. My advice: know the information right away, make flashcards, do research paper .

Taken her for 3 different classes at COC(US Hist I.&II., womens hist). She is not a boring lecturer. Basically tells the history lessons like she's telling the class a story, and she is fantastic at it! Good workload, enough so you can't slack off but not overwhelming. She is truly passionate about the classes she teaches and that is so motivating!

The whole class is lecture. The info is pretty dry and the tests are very hard. Good professor, very reasonable.

She's a nice woman, but she doesn't do much teaching. She shows movies way too often and I feel like I didn't learn anything from her. Your grade weighs heavily on a midterm and a final on things that she didn't go over in class.

I took this professor over the fall to get my General Education out of the way. At first she didn't seem like a hard professor, but you do have to study on your own time of the different history terms and events. She is a very good woman and will help you when you reach out for help. A good tip study off her study guide, its on the midterm/final.

I took this course over the summer at the Canyon Country Campus. Prof. Brassfield gave very in-depth lectures with lots of info. She basically did completion grades for the papers. Her tests are ok if you study for them. If you take thorough notes during the lecture and pay some attention, you won't really need the textbook.

I took her summer class with two tests and reflection papers on movies. She does not grade hard on the reflection papers, but her syllabus is misleading and her tests are not the easiest even with the study terms. She gives lots of extra credit though which makes the class really easy and she is really nice.

I would not recommend taking her if you don't have to. She is unorganized, she changes the syllabus every class session, is not clear on the content of the exams, and she lectures the entire class. Grading was not too difficult but you definitely need to read the text book and study because she doesn't cover everything she puts on the test.

Loved her. I mean yeah, lectures were pretty boring and I didn't enjoy sitting there for 3 hours every week, but I also hate history and have no interest in the subject. But she was awesome and really wanted you to pass the class. This was my second time retaking the class because I failed another teacher's class. But Brassfield was great!
