This teacher is very fun. Her topic is most about mythology and the physiology of the world. She is fun, great and very nice. She's a recommended teacher. She grades VERY easy on her 3 essays and 1 final essay. Just do your best, and you should get a easy B, not easy to get an A though.

Barrie is a pretty good teacher. She gets straight to the point and offers great feedback whenever you want it. She is a hard grader though. I put in a lot of effort into my essays and the highest grade I've ever gotten on any of them was a B+. But she really does improve your writing skills; come on, she used to be a newspaper reporter, so she has

Challenging essay assignments and she shows a lot of movies, but they were all interesting and she is a great lecturer. Very interesting class. She taught me a lot about something I thought I knew a ton about already. I would have never guessed that would have happened...

Great Teacher. You will learn a lot in her class. She is very clear on what she wants for her essay assignments. She is alwasy available during her office hours and will proof read your papers and give you suggestions on what you can do to make your essay better. Her inclass quizzez are open book and she doesn't grade too harshly. Very Good Profess

Extraordinary teacher and writer!! Some people write, and some people teach -- but Ms. Barrie can do both extraordinarily well!! She is a tough but fair grader, because she wants to teach you about quality writing. If you want to write really well, take Ms. Barrie!! One of the top three teachers I had at Cal State LA.

As far as I know she does not give A's. Her grading range from B- to B+. Her teaching of writing is very minimal. A great majority of the class time was spent on social issues and gender development. Instruction on writing consisted of handouts and a few suggestions on writing.

Although she is a nice lady, her class is not very well thought-out. She is not very organized and she makes it impossible to get an A. She has three quizzes, which should be called finals, because they consists of 25 quesions in which you have to write in in-depth responses to. The class almost seemed like a waste of time.

you need 4 books for this class ($!) the topics she covers is very interesting, but that doesn't help you get an A. unless you write very well and put in a LOT of time & EFFORT into your essays, take someone else. If you're more than happy getting a B/B+, take her. Her class is more like a psychology/female studies course. 3 essays, 3 quizes.

I thought it would be fun when i looked at the books we had to buy. We had to read fairy tales and myths. The class was fun and it seemed easy, but if you just do the work, you'll get a B. If you put a lot of effort you might get an A. Her class is kinda weird and abstract. It's more like a psychology class rather than an english class.
