Comment:

Attendance is mandatory! However, classes are very interesting and there was no need for a text. Liz is very knowledgeable and accommodating. The final and mini quizes were easy if studied. The midterm outline was broad but the test was manageable. One of the best teachers I have had.

Lis was the best prof I've ever had! She's enthusiastic about what she is teaching and explains everything clearly. Great sense of humour and always accepted challenging questions from the class. Her exams were fair as long as you studied. If you don't like showing up for class, this is not the class for you bc she does not put her notes on paws.

I wouldn't recommend taking this course as a night class. Liz dictates all her notes, and 3 hours of writing gets very tiring and confusing. She tends to ramble on and without any powerpoint for a guideline, it is hard to know what is important. Her lecture style sucked for a night class. Otherwise she was good!

was very interesting, but she repeats herself and kinda drags in lectures. But she does know her stuff and is passionate. HARD marker. write EVERYTHING you know for a short answer question "a temp change that made temp drop" wasn?t sufficient she was looking for "cold climatic change" usually in the 80's i came out with a 74, bit discouraging.

If you sign up for her class, MAKE SURE to attend every class of the term. If not, it's gonna be Really hard to get the notes. Because this is Introductory archeology, there are a tons of new words (vocabularies) that are waiting for you (such as "awl" or "burins"). So for people whose 1st language is not english, it's gonna be tough!

Her lectures are dictation based and if you show up for class and take good notes then you will have no problems obtaining high marks. Exams are easy and are based entirely from her lecture notes. She is very approachable and is always willing to answer any questions you may have

Her archaic lecture style allows for extremely subjective marking on her exams.. she will subjectively mark short answers to lower the class average rather than making the questions harder. She pointed out that the textbook was not required and then probably 10% of the questions were not covered in class.

Not easy. She teaches very well, very thoroughly, but her questions are often very sneaky. You'll have three options like "Primates: were entirely vegetarian," "mostly vegetarian" or "ate mostly fruit." So study the details well. I loved class, just not the tests. Fun, but not a mark-booster.

Liz was awesome. She was the best prof i had my first year. She puts most of the important terms and stuff on an overhead so you can copy it out. She gives really great lectures and her exams are on material that is thoroughly discussed in class. I highly recommend her.

She is very clear in what she is teaching. Dictates all of her notes, but goes slow enough so you can catch everything. Tests are VERY easy but sometimes her multiple choice is a little harder. Make sure you answer your essay and short answer ?s in a lot of detail.

A sensational prof.Easily one of the best in my four years of university. A teacher first, she always makes time for students and even gives out her home phone number.
