Comment:

Thompson retired after the Fall 2010 semester and I was in the last class he ever taught. He's extremely intelligent and made excellent notes. However,his lectures were quite boring because he spoke in a monotone. The old tests and exams he posted on his website helped me get an A in his class!

Dr. Thomspson is one of my best profs by far this semester. He gives plenty of notice before class tests and makes sure they aren't around the same time as all the other midterms take place. He puts practice tests on his website and wants people to do well! He's also quite funny and very helpful. WOULD RECOMMEND!!

First off, this guy seems intimidating. & he kind of is. He seems to be very educated, & definitely knows his stuff. So, he kind of goes INSANELY fast with stuff, & he doesn't write very neat. But one has to look beyond that; once you get used to his ways, he's great!! I'd like to know the guy on a personal level, that's how good he is. Don't hate.

Such a cute old man! :) This is a really hard course first of all...He didn't give great notes, and wasn't always clear, but he is very friendly and nice, he genuinely cares about his students. If you get him, you have to try very, very hard, and do lots of extra work, and all the assigned questions.

For starters, this course was very difficult. No prof could make it easy, and I think Thompson did a good job. His tests are easy if you study lots, and his in-class examples are really helpful. His notes are helpful, and the outcomes in the course are very clear.

Smart man but gives horrible notes. Tests are more difficult but if he gives you a practice one its about the same as the actual. He's good if you're the kind of person who likes to teach yourself a lot of things afterward.
