I liked her a lot - outside of class. Honestly the lectures are super boring but I had to go to her office to hand in a paper and ended up staying to chat for an hour. Super interesting person, so it's a shame she can't bring more of that to the intro level course. Highly recommend though because if you can write a decent paper it's an easy credit.

I thought Sherlow was a great prof, despite bad things that I have heard about her. She was very helpful to me, readily available outside of class time. I took a drama class with her for my English degree and she treated me equally to the theater students. I received great marks from her and I would definitely choose her again.

Comment:
Dr. Sherlow is a phenomenal professor and has an incredible knowledge of English and literature, particularly dramatic. She is kind to her students and nurtures learning both in and out of class. She's an excellent conversationalist, as well, so even just stopping by for a chat is a treat. I'll miss her courses.

She is one of my favourite English Professors so far at Grenfell! She's really good to talk to both inside and outside of class and though she seems a little strict at first, she is very easy to get along with and is very fair with her grading.

If you take the time to participate in class and make conversation with her outside of class, it is very easy to get on her better side. Additionally, if you know how to write a paper, you're probably already getting a good mark. She reads a lot of the text in-class so attendance is not always mandatory but is recommended for in-depth discussions

I don't know if it was just me but this prof was very difficult and gave me a very hard time. She is very picky with what she wants. She expects a lot of you. Her classes are also very boring. I did not like her teaching and would not recommend her to anyone.

She is a teacher focused on the more theatrical parts of English rather than other parts. If you are a non-Theatre student, I found that her class was tougher because she made references to plays and novels that myself (and others who were not in theatre) had not studied. Otherwise, she is very friendly and a decent marker.

A very nice prof and helpful if you talk to her. Pointless to go to lectures, however, because all she does is read from the text. If you can keep up with the readings in your own time, then don't bother to show up for lectures. Her exams and essay topics are not challenging - overall I didn't get anything out of this course besides credits.

She may be strict but you will definitely learn a lot. Despite what others may think she is an extremely nice woman. In fact, if you see her in the hallways she addresses her students with a friednly hello and maybe even a chat.

The ultimate worst prof. i've ever had. re-iterates the text instead of adding anything to class, has called students "stupid", and seems to only teach as a method to belittle others. useless, honestly. if you read the book, there is no point in going to the class.

One of my favourite profs at Grenfell. She knows her subject matter inside out, and if you show interest in the course material you can expect to come out with a good mark and learn a lot. I found her to be very friendly, but I wouldn't want to be on her bad side just the same. Highly recommended.

Very professional and smart woman. Perhaps one of the most intelligent english profs in MUN. She is strict, but is very clear in what she expects of you. I would definitely recommend taking her course, just for the fascinating lectures.

Sherlow is not a bad prof, what she is, is a professor who expects her students to have half a clue about what they're doing and why they're here before they show up in class. She may come across as a bit harsh to some, but I believe it is because she is expecting better from her students. Do your work and research and you'll get her respect

She was the worst prof I ever had. She was very unclear and never helpful. In fact, if you asked her a question, she would bite your head off. She had a hard time saying on topic and liked to pretend she knew everything.

Everyone says she's strick but she is only strick because she wants the best out of her students. She was very clear on her rules for writing essays and always gave back helpful feedback on them. A great professor and I wish I could take her English 1001 class next semester. Great Prof!
