Comment:

I learned so many details about american architecture in his class. He took an immense subject and emphasized points that simplified the subject so that it could be understood, such as through examples. He conveyed broad knowledge of American history and gets you involved in the process. Course was challenging, but absolutely a favorite course!

He's a great professor with an immense knowledge of historic preservation. He opened my eyes to a whole world of architecture I would have otherwise missed. I really appreciate his teaching!

Prof. Gannon is the most senile teacher I've ever had. He returns papers without grades and tells students they are not imaginative. Asks questions then completely rephrase them. Hardest teacher I've ever had to understand in any way.

Had him for architecture history. Really sweet old man. His outline of the class could have been more organized, but he definitely knew the subject material and you could tell architecture and history are really his passion.

Amazing professor. His passion for the material adds to the class. He flies through his lecture so use his worksheets and write only the important information. Tests aren't hard if you took good notes and the three papers are on anything related to military history that you found interesting. See him if you need help. Definitely a must take.

I can understand how some may find him hard. But if you try and keep up with the breakneck pace of his notes, the tests are easy. 3 x 3-5 page papers on anything remotely related to the material in class. 3 tests that are 6 short answer and 1 essay. Really is a funny old man who has a fiery passion for teaching and the military.

Hes a nice old guy who has a passion for teaching and the military, however he goes through tons of notes at a pace you can barely keep up with. He is willing to help you out if you go and see him. I did poor on my first exam, but pulled off a B.

all in all the class was boring so unless you're totally enamored with architecture, i wouldn't take the class. he presents the material on a powerpoint with too much information on each slide and moves so fast you can't take it all in. he doesn't let you get to see his lecture powerpoints online anywhere either. the tests are long and difficult

Unless you are really into history before this class do not bothering taking him. Test are near impossible given the amount of information you cover and few small points he picks out and thinks are important. Very intelligent teacher sometimes for gets that not everyone is as smart as him...

This was one of the most boring classes I have EVER taken. You have to really like history to enjoy the class. He is a nice guy and wil help you if you need it. Be prepared to learn about historic furniture though!
